Camera Phone Love
February 8th, 2012 / Comments (0)Do you like taking and sharing photos using apps from your camera phone?
That's what the Orlando camera phone show Depixtions is asking camera phone enthusiasts. Participants can use whatever apps on their phones they want, as long as the photo was originally taken with a cell phone.
All of the approved submissions will be printed and displayed at the gallery show to be held on March 10, 2012 at the Orange Studio. Each print will be for sale and with all proceeds going to New Hope for Kids.
Submission deadline is February 17th.

The Egotist Superbowl Super Post
February 7th, 2012 / Comments (0)The Egotist Network's Super Bowl Roundup
With a nail-biter fourth quarter, a Madonna half time show and the occasional close up of Giselle's skybox, this year's Super Bowl was tolerable. The ads, on the other hand, were a whole different story. Of the 62 spots that ran – only a few offered glimmers of hope. More than a few were terribly painful. And most of them were just plain boring.
With color commentary compiled from across the Egotist Network, here's what we had to say about last night's spots worth talking about: (Videos after the jump)

Shannon Kolvitz at Brass Bells
February 6th, 2012 / Comments (0)
We failed to post this in time for the opening reception tonight, but was reminded again by Plaza District's tweets. Shannon Kovitz's excellent photos are showing over at Brass Bell Studios right. If you failed to catch the opening tonight, they'll be there for the rest of the month. And speaking of Plaza, Live on the Plaza is this weekend.

Created by Agent
January 31st, 2012 / Comments (1)"Agent recently had the pleasure of working with Jim Ferguson, former CCO of DDB/Dallas, Young and Rubicam/NYC and TM/Dallas. He wrote and CD'ed this :30 TV we produced for Walt Garrison foods at his ranch outside of Dallas. Walt Garrison is known as the cowboy's cowboy, OSU and Dallas Cowboys great and all-around nice guy. It was a fun shoot, and we got to eat steak in his whittling room. Delicious barbecue sauce, too."
It's too bad you couldn't send me one of those steaks. The 30 second spot isn't anything to write home about, but the production from Agent is top notch.

AM Press, Issue 2.2
January 25th, 2012 / Comments (1)"Tucked away amongst the dusty bars and cloudy shop windows of Oklahoma City’s Classen Circle, Charlie Nicholson of Charlie’s Jazz, Blues and R&B Records keeps his passion for music. In an era where vinyl has made its comeback on indie records and alternative rock, Charlie’s has sold nothing but the classics of jazz, blues and R&B for years now, and his passion for the music shines through his personality."
