Just in time for the weekend, I have a special guest post for you from the lovely Sarah of Vanilla Bean Blog.

I discovered Vanilla Bean several months ago and have been entranced with it ever since.
Sarah’s way with words, recipes and photography emulate everything I find luring about life.
Simple moments.
Delicious food.
And unfiltered beauty.

I’ve asked Sarah to speak on breakfast. I trust you’ll enjoy it.

——————————–

There is something very charming about breakfast; I should say, good breakfast. Most weekday mornings I’m only half-awake, slowly sipping my coffee and trying to convince myself to just eat some fruit instead of that bagel slathered in cream cheese I seem to always have my heart set on. It’s a quiet affair, and not very exciting. But then the weekend comes and I go above and beyond: cast iron skillets and waffle makers are brought up from the basement. Eggs are cracked, and the bacon is sizzling. Little ones stand on chairs near the counter, helping to gently whisk pancake batter while shoveling blueberries in their mouths. It is a celebration of starting our day together; embracing the fleeting hours of rest and togetherness before us.

Here is a little collection of some of my breakfast favorites. I am always adding more to the mix, but these are tried and true gems in our house. I’ve also added items such as muffins and scones, because sometimes you don’t need a whole breakfast buffet, just a little something special. Then again, they do make a good second breakfast.
