About
I’m Joanna. I live in Portland, OR in a teeny-tiny 100-year-old Craftsman bungalow with my husband, Matthew, and our 4-year-old, Milo. On any given day, I can be found cooking, reading, gardening, dancing in the kitchen with Milo, sewing, looking at a computer screen, walking around my neighborhood, rollerskating down Marine Drive, watching movies with Matt, eating Sunday brunch with Milo at Sweetpea, puttering around my house with my headphones on.
I’ve written two vegan cookbooks: Yellow Rose Recipes, which was published by Herbivore in 2007, and Yellow Rose Greatest Hits, which I self-published in 2011.
I’ve had a personal website since 1994, when I was 16, and this is the latest incarnation: part journal, part inspiration board, part scrapbook, part glorified to-do list. These days, I’m mostly keeping it for myself as a record, reminder, and motivational tool. If you read it, like it, and it adds anything to your life: yay!
