When I stumbled upon this slideshow of vintage photos from the front row at fashion week, I just had to share… I added some of the newer ones at the end, just for kicks. Apparently, the front row has been littered with celebrities and all sorts of people since the beginning.

Yesterday was a travel day, so Im sorry for the lack of post. And today’s post isn’t that well thought out either. Its just a bunch of images that I have been liking and/or making.
First up, two paintings I made a few weeks ago:
Very 80′s inspired. I know. I think its something like 60 x 36.
Another, 50 x 60.
From Kelly Wearstler, the wellspring of all ideas:
From her blog:
Photos I took at a Hacienda with the family this weekend:
I’ll be back later with some more stuff. You have to actually be around DOING things to make good posts!

Two moody apartments in Elle Decor, the first is a largely concrete converted air raid bunker in Berlin.
And the second, is the ebayed and lacquered home of stylist Jackie Astier. What do you guys think of it? I already got some emails from people telling me how much they loved it, BUT I read a few people online saying black lacquer, brass apartments are “Played Out”…
I mean, it has a lot of similar elements as my apartment, and you know I’m sick of that… But I still think its really well done, and I like it.
Thoughts?
ALSO, My friends at C&C Concierge are giving away a free pair of BLANK NYC turquoise jeans! I wouldn’t want you guys to miss out! Go join the contest! HERE.

( If you want, scroll down to the bottom of the post- click play so you can listen to the music while you read.)
In my mind, Lana Del Rey should be starring in this campaign, or at least wearing these clothes daily.
Lana Del Ray, who rose to fame on Youtube with her iMovie-made vintage infused home videos, subject of mass ridicule for her performance on SNL, is absolutely fascinating. She is one part manufactured Bridget Bardot, one part “Gangsta Nancy Sinatra” and then she is an also a Cat Power wannabe meets modern day Lolita and a wounded Elaine from The Graduate… all at once. Her face, with its fake lips, is just so interesting. I think this is the only time I’ve ever liked fake lips. I almost want to call her a sad indie Katy Perry, if you know what I mean… Retro inspired, almost caricature like, and while one is super saccharine California Girl, the other is Hollywood Sadcore.
And I think she’s going to be the next biggest thing in fashion. What I like about her and her music, is that you don’t have to be technically masterful at music to move people. And intrigue.
Enter Prada SS 2012. Its Go Greece Lightening retro hot rod heaven… Why does it feel like Prada’s campaigns just DESTROY all other campaigns ever?Steven Meisel, that’s why.
But I think she needs to star in them, these models seem so prim compared to the sadcore faces she could make with those lips. Her whole persona is just so textured… even if it is fake. (Its 2012, of course, she rose to fame on the internet.)
(OH MY LORD! Those green pump/mules. The white sling backs. HOLY AWESOME. The floral ankle bracelets!!!! Yowsa.)
Look, someone already mocked up a fake Prada campaign starring Lana:
And its good. Isn’t it?
I have to tell you, I’ve also been digging the album, and the videos:
Love her or hate her?
