Seeking presenters, performers, volunteers, and sponsors, and Moleman 2: Art of the Algorithms showing
We’ll be holding two promotional events at Artisan’s Asylum in
Somerville in the lead-up to the party. On April 27th, we’ll be doing a presentation on the demoscene and a short demoshow. On May 23rd, we’ll be showing a recently released Hungarian documentary about the demoscene, Moleman 2: Art of the Algorithms; to get a ticket, visit moleman2-artisansasylum.eventbrite.com.
We’re also on the lookout for potential volunteers and sponsors. To

Present or Perform
Please let us know if there is an organization or individual you think we should contact about sponsorship or presenting at the event.
We’d also like to set aside a chunk of time on Saturday when representatives of local community groups whose activities might be of interest to folks at the party—from hackerspaces to galleries to meetups and educational cooperatives—to present five minute talks which will give attendees a sense of their mission. Our aim is not only to encourage people to create, or give them a setting where they can get feedback on their work from other people who are also doing so, but to connect art and technology groups in this area to one another and foster collaborations between them.

@party Minidemo Deux a success!
So the second Montréal party went well. We had eight entries.
Among the attendees at the demoshow were two organizers of NAID, Mr Khan and Med! Pictures and prods (well, one is posted) to come soon.
Thank you to all who attended and submitted, thanks to RPM, who rented us space, and René Walling, who provided the prizes, a Nintendo 64 (which went to Québarium, the 1st place winners) , a Sun Sparc (which went to Madbrain tied for 2nd place), and a variety of SCSI hard drives and CD-ROM drives, which went to other winners.
Thanks to PsychNerd of SceneSat for covering us! You can hear their coverage on their website! scenesat.com/relive

New competition for Montréal party \ Nouvelle compétition pour la party à Montréal
Think of a name for the party and design us a logo!
It should be thematically appropriate and reproducible in black and
white (although you can use color in your entry). Otherwise, go nuts.
Pense à un nom pour la party et dessine-nous un logo!
Seules contraintes: le nom devrait être approprié et avoir une version reproductible en noir et blanc. Pour le reste, soyez fou.
Onsite attendees only.
(That makes two compos — the other one is the fast democompo which we also had last year)
Montréal Party, Part Deux
Our second Montréal party will be next weekend. It sold out rather quickly.
We want to do this again; ought to come up with a name. ( :
PsychNerD of SceneSat will be broadcasting from the party.
Our first was same time last year at Foulab, a Montréal hackerspace. Michel Gallant was an invaluable support, and we hope to see him next weekend, among other awesome individuals we know in Montréal (e.g. a certain fellow we know with a folding chopperbike (: ).
Metoikos and Dr Claw thank Peter Taylor, René Walling, Barzoule, Alex Ruaux, and Alistair Croll for their assistance in helping this happen, and Ziphoid for getting SceneSat coverage.

What a week!
Rapt audiences, excellent presentations by our visitor, connections made, awareness raised . . .
Yeah, I’d say that was a success.
