Where a blue collar work ethic
meets a white collar business.

Crowley Webb has been a no-nonsense, nose-to-the-grindstone, zero-drama, dirt-under-the-fingernails agency since our humble beginnings back in 1986. Our founders, Joe Crowley and John Webb, used a phone booth in downtown Buffalo as their first office. But an industrious spirit, along with a dedication to both the client and the work, led to continuous growth and made us who we are today – a group of talented people who work hard day after day after day to produce ideas that work equally hard.

The foremen (and forewoman).

Meet five living, breathing examples of our hardworking ways. These fine folks are deeply involved in the everyday workings of our agency. And they’re nice people you should get to know.

Jim Hettich

CEO

Jim joined the Crowley Webb family back in 1998. Before that, he enjoyed a decade and a half in the ad biz at agencies including DDB, BBDO, and the Wolf Group. He has worked with some of the world's biggest brands, such as Bausch & Lomb, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Citibank, Eastman Kodak, Fisher-Price, GE, IBM, M&T Bank, Mobil, Praxis, and Siemens. Jim steers the strategic ship for our agency, and is always on the lookout for our next great client and a Bob Dylan show.

Dave Buck

President

David was the third hire when our agency was only a few months old. Prior to that, he had worked as an art director at Rumrill-Hoyt/Rochester (a division of Saatchi and Saatchi Worldwide), and Faller, Klenk & Quinlan. During his career, David has produced work for Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Buffalo Sabres, Eastman Kodak, Independent Health, M&T Bank, Phillips Lytle, Praxis, Siemens, and Wesley Jessen. Today, he heads up our creative department and paints nice pictures in his spare time.

Jeff Pappalardo

SVP, Creative Director

Jeff came to Crowley Webb in 1994 after stints at agencies including Grey, Backer & Spilevogel, Ally & Gargano, and Anderson & Lembke/Chiat Day. Jeff has created work for the Buffalo Bills, Campbell's Soup, Fisher-Price, M&T Bank, Miller Brewing Company, The Wall Street Journal, and Saab. He provides strategy, creative direction, and regular beatings at our ping-pong table.

Jim Crowley

SVP, Media Director

Jim joined the agency right out of college in 1987. Since then, he has pulled together strategic media campaigns for Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Aspen Dental, Baillie Lumber, Fitness Experience, Independent Health, Towne Automotive Group, and Wesley Jessen. And he has assembled a team that claims to be the most fun department in the agency.

Jean Fletcher

CFO

Jean worked as controller with Lockyer Bradshaw & Wilson Advertising in London before coming to Crowley Webb in 1987. As the woman who handles all of the financials along with our HR, she keeps everything and everyone around here in line. She also insists on calling French fries “chips.”

LEAP before you leap.

Sure, every agency claims to have a process. But ours is more than just a nifty acronym; it’s been tested in the field for 25-plus years. And of course, client involvement is key at every stage of the game. Here’s how it breaks down.

Learn

The legwork stage. Here, we conduct research, consider past and current communications, eye up the competition, and take a look at what makes your audience tick.

Envision

Now we answer questions like “What do we want to say?” and “How do we want to say it?” We try big pictures ideas on for size, and identify concrete goals.

Activate

This is when we pull together everything we’ve learned, make whatever it is we’ve decided to make, and then send it out into the world.

Prove

Is our work working? We determine what was most effective and set future goals.

If you’d like a more in-depth look at our process, just say the word.

It wouldn't work without them.

These are the great companies we work hard for every day. We make their goals our own. We challenge them. We live their brands. That’s what makes a true partnership.
