Reaching Japan Devastated by Quake/Tsunami

Biblica is reaching out to Japan in their hour of need through God’s Word.

A violent tsunami spawned by one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded slammed eastern Japan Friday.

Early reports indicate hundreds of bodies were found in the coastal city of Sendai, population 1 million, with 350 people missing. The death toll is expected to rise dramatically.

The magnitude-8.9 offshore quake unleashed a tsunami in excess of 30 feet and was followed by more than 50 aftershocks, with more to come. Children in schoolrooms, workers in offices, women in their homes, and farmers in fields had no time to flee the jolting mid-afternoon shocks and walls of water.

For those who survived, initial shock will soon be replaced by grief, horror, and a sense of helplessness. Unfortunately, many have no connection with God. According to Operation World, more than 70 percent of Japanese claim no personal religion, although most adhere to Buddhist and Shinto practices.

Biblica is partnering with Christians in Japan to provide hope to survivors through When Your Whole World Changes, The Survivors, and Beside Still Waters. Your gift today will help meet the emotional and spiritual needs of people through God’s timeless Word.

Thank you for your generosity.
