The Mydin Wholesale Emporium at the Melaka International Trade Centre made it into the Malaysia Book of Records with a 880m-long halal 1Malaysia yee sang recently.
The water dragon-shaped yee sang was created by six chefs and a crew of 60 at the cost of RM80,000 .
Yee sang, served during Chinese New Year, has come to symbolise abundance, prosperity and vigour.
About 2,000 guests took part in the yee sang toss.
Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin received the Malaysia Book of Records certificate for the longest yee sang in the presence of the Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam.
"Since this is the year of the dragon, we decided to create the longest yee sang in the country, said Ameer.
"We opted to hold the event at the Mydin Wholesale Emporium in MITC, Malacca, out of the 96 outlets that we have in the country," he said.
Besides being treated to the yee sang, guests were entertained by 12 dragon and lion dance troops from Malacca.
