Madrid Flat Splashes about Colorfully in Punk & Hippie Stylings
How would you feel about inhabiting an apartment that is literally bursting at the seams with color? The young family who proudly owns this multi-colored flat spotted on Micasa specifically demanded an eclectic, multi-layered look from their commissioned team of interior designers. They got more than their money’s worth in our humble opinion. Butterfly collections in glass encasings, Russian dolls, chandeliers, throw rugs, a veiled canopy over the bed in the master bedroom, Andy Warhol’s Campbell Soup, an impressive collection of frames placed directly on the floor, the modified British flag, plus throw pillows with punk emblazoning—can you imagine a home that can fit all this, yet manage not to look kitsch? Neither could we, before we saw this home.
The two bedroom, one bathroom home was designed for a young Spanish couple and their infant child, who currently reside in New York City, yet visit Madrid during the holidays. The home’s central point is, of course, the generous high-ceiling open space day area, which extends into a balcony via French windows. The home seems ideal for a young family, with its interesting, lively décor details, lush, yet tranquil atmosphere and many, many ornamental plans. Those of us who dream of vacationing in Madrid would definitely not mind renting the place out for a short, yet sweet holiday in the bustling Spanish metropolis.
