When gingerbread hearts meet a bowl filled with chalkboard paint you end up with adorable little hearts that you can leave messages on with chalk, hang as decor, or use as gift tags. I’m so excited to share this fun DIY Valentines’  Day decoration idea with you.  Remember last week when I showed you a fun valentines Day craft to do with your kiddos?  Well when I baked ornamental gingerbread hearts I went a little overboard with my double batch and had way more hearts than I needed.  As I was pondering what to do with the leftover hearts, I came up a crafty idea to cover...

When a small awkward hallway meets a simple DIY pallet shelf, it creates the perfect spot to display something special.  Using pallet shelving for home decor is a great way to add impact without spending a lot of money.  Here is my take on a super simple DIY pallet shelf that I made to display some old vintage books and toys in our home. I have been using this trick since my kids were...

Height charts for children are not always an easy thing to incorporate into home decor.  I used these old, charming, rustic shutters paired with some canvas baby photos of my little ones to create a perfect area to display how much they have grown. When at my in-laws one day, I noticed a thin piece of Sheetrock laying up against their wall.  As I investigated further my heart fluttered as I realized what it was.  It was a height chart for their three children (one of which I am lucky enough to call my husband).  Their children are all grown up and moved out of the house.  All I could...
