Pizza Dough

Yield:
Dough for 1 pizza
Active time:
20 minutes
Total Time:
30 minutes
Ingredients:

½ cup warm water (between 100°F and 110°F so you don't kill, or chill, the yeast)
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
pinch sugar
2 large pinches salt
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 to 2 cups all-purpose or whole-wheat flour

Preparation:

1. Measure warm water into a large bowl.
2. Add the yeast to the water and stir.
3. Add the sugar, salt, and oil to the water and stir well.
4. Add the flour to the bowl in small amounts and stir well after each addition.
5. Add just enough flour so the dough is not sticking in clumps to your hands or the bowl.
6. Using your hands, knead dough for 2 to 3 minutes on a lightly floured surface. Let the dough rest 5 to 10 minutes before using.
