Jenny Packham launched her first collaboration with Debenhams this week, designing an affordable range of “occasionwear” as part of the ongoing Designers at Debenhams project. After Kate Middleton wore a number of her dresses last past year, British designer Jenny Packham has fast become a household name when it comes to elegant evening gowns, but not everyone has a royal budget. The “No.1 Jenny Packham” Debenhams range will appeal to the high street market, with prices starting at just £85 for a dress.
The unveiling was held in the suitably regal French Salon at Claridges, where we saw a range of elegant and classic evening gowns, jewellery, hairpieces, shoes and even bridesmaids dresses. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of “occasionwear” and long gowns, as I’d much rather spend the money on a dress I can regularly wear after the event. The No.1 Jenny Packham range does have some nice accessories like the hairpieces, jewellery and glitter envelope clutches I would add to make an outfit more “weddinglike”.
No.1 Jenny Packham for Debenhams lands in store and online from April.

Everything looks great in the photos. But what is the collection like in real life? Are the fabrics nice, or do they feel cheap?
