spacer Proverbs tells us to trust in the Lord with all of our heart {Proverbs 3:3-6}.  It is easy to trust God when things are good.  It is easy to trust when things are going our way and we can see the outcome.

But to trust when we cannot see what is ahead?

Not so easy.  We have the desire to know what the future holds and to control it.  But the truth is, we are like a horse with blinders on.  We simply can't see everything.  God can.  He sees the big picture.  He knows all.  How do we trust?

spacer We can trust by placing our lives fully in His very capable hands.  Just like with our children, they may not understand why the have to do school, but as adults we know the benefit it is for them.  Or they may not understand why they can't go to the house of the kid down the street with the abusive parents, but we know it is not safe for them.  We are His children, we don't see it, He does.

Are you ready to place everything in His hands?  Are you ready to trust Him without restrictions?

The winner of the $20 DaySpring gift certificate is Calista from A House and Yard.  Congrats!  Please email me at metzgersix@gmail.com.

And I Knew He Was The One...

spacer
This year my best friend, Jeremy, and I will celebrate 15 years of marriage. I cannot even believe I am saying that. In some ways it feels like we have been together forever (in a good way) and in some ways if feels like yesterday. In only two short years I will have been a wife the same number of years I was not a wife, which is a weird feeling. Yes, I know I just told you my age and yes, I know I just told you that I was married at only seventeen.

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.  2 Thessalonians 1:3

I came across the above verse today and it really went along with something that has been on my heart this week.  My church is a newer church having just planted last summer.  We have quite a few new attendees, we can them family, that are new believers.  I was thinking about them a lot this week.  It is so beautiful to watch them grow in their knowledge of God and in their faith.  Watching their faith and excitement in God helps to grow my faith and excitement.

New believers are like someone in a new dating relationship.  They are in love and excited.  Somewhere along the way, just like in dating, that passion subsides just a bit.  We still are in love with God but the fire dies out just a bit.  I don't want to be like that.  I want to be passionate, deeply in love and wildly on fire for my Savior at all times.  I want my faith and love in Christ to grow each and every day, not just in the beginning.

If you have been saved for a long period of time, has your excitement of Christ become stale?  Has your joy dwindled?  What are you doing different than you were doing in the beginning?  Often people diet and exercise and once they see results, they slow down or stop, then the weight comes back.  They have to find out what it is they did to lose the weight in the beginning.  We have to get back to the diet of a new believer.  The time spent in God's presence, the time sharing Him with others, the joy we found in reading His Word.

Where is your walk with Him today?  Are you on fire for Him or do you need to get back to the beginning?

We Are His

spacer

Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
  Worship the LORD with gladness;
   come before Him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God.
   It is He who made us, and we are His;
   we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
   and His courts with praise;
   give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the LORD is good and His love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations.

Psalm 100

Game Nights and Ice Cream Dates

When you were dating you probably bragged to all your friends how great your guy was. Right? You told of all the wonderful things he did, how handsome he was, how strong he was, every chance you got, you told of his good qualities.

When we are dating, we can't wait to brag about our man. When we are married, often times the bragging turns to complaining. He didn't take out the trash, left his shoes out, hasn't taken you on a date and the list goes on and on. We are just as quick to complain to our friends as we were to brag back in the day.

To read more, join me at Woman to Woman Ministries for a Marriage Monday.

Word Filled Wednesday & Big Announcement

Please join me over at Woman to Woman for a BIG announcement!

spacer "You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.  Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.  Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled." Titus 2:1-6

The Word tells us to invest in others.  To come along side them and encourage them and teach them.  Who have you invested in recently?  A daughter?  Neigh
