WHAT DO WE DO?
We are the University Childrens Genetics Laboratory (UCGL), a division of Progenetic, Inc. Our laboratory is California State approved, CLIA Certified, and CAP Accredited. The Biochemical Genetics Laboratory was founded in 1974. The Molecular Genetics Laboratory joined us in 1986. In 1998, Progenetic, Inc. acquired both Biochemical and Molecular Genetic Laboratories and added the Cytogenetic division. This combination allows us to offer our clients Biochemical, Molecular Genetic, and Cytogenetic services from one laboratory.

Each laboratory is directed by a Board Certified M.D. and/or Ph.D. who has many years of experience in their particular discipline. Our Laboratory Services Directorhas over 25 years of experience in laboratory management. All of our professional staff are available for consultation concerning any laboratory service, test result, and/or interpretation. Our Medical Director and M.D.Consultant are available for consultation regarding medical management of your unique patients.
