This week for HBinFive our assignment was 1 loaf of Vollkornbrot Bread and 1 loaf of Rosemary Flax Bread. Unfortunately I could only make the Vollkornbrot but boy did I have fun making this recipe. I substituted 1 cup of sauerkraut for 1 cup of water and added 1 TBL of Caraway Seed. The Bread was so good instead of making the Rosemary Flax Bread, I made a second loaf of the Vollkornbrot minus the sauerkraut and I have to say the bread was much better with the sauerkraut! And the Sauerkraut Bread was delicious with my Collard Green Soup. If you would like to see these recipes just click here.
I know many people make the “Artisan Bread in Minutes a Day” and the “Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day” recipes because they are fast and convenient. But I make the AB5 and HB5 breads because they taste so good. It does not matter to me how much time and energy it takes, the end result is what is important to me.

I agree the end product is so important and fortunately HBin5 delivers on taste. I am so far behind on baking but hoping to make some loaves this week which I will blog about and add here eventually. Great job once again.
I’m with you on that. In the end its not because something is easy to do (it helps) but how good it is that is the deciding factor.

I only made the Rosemary Flax Baguettes this time. I really like them and they were easy to shape.
