These HD-quality video screencasts will help you learn how to use WordPress to publish your own blog posts and pages, edit existing content on your web site, interact with your readers, and build traffic to your site.

Why WordPress 101?

spacer My name is Shawn Hesketh, and since 1988, I’ve been designing logos, websites, and marketing materials for my clients in Houston, TX. Over the past several years, I’ve built countless custom WordPress sites for my clients, enabling them to manage their own content and keep their sites up to date without having to turn to a professional web designer each time. In addition to providing design services, I also offer highly-personalized WordPress training for my clients.

I realize that personalized, one-on-one training isn’t for everyone, so I created this video “crash course” for WordPress that will cover all the basics and help you get up and running in the quickest amount of time possible.

Aren’t there any WordPress training books out there?

spacer Sure there are! If you’re a WordPress user, you probably already know about the comprehensive documentation that can be found online in the WordPress codex.

You may have already seen the WordPress for Dummies book by Lisa-Sabin Wilson, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to WordPress, or the fantastic and comprehensive Beginning WordPress 3 by Stephanie Leary.

While these are excellent resources—and I regularly recommend them to my clients—many folks prefer to learn more quickly, by simply watching someone else.

Q: Will these tutorials teach me how to build a regular website with static pages, or just a blog?
One of the most persistent myths about WordPress is that it is primarily a blogging tool. Although it was originally used as a popular blogging platform, WordPress is actually a highly flexible content management system (or “CMS”), that enables you to build and manage just about any type of website imagineable — no matter what type of content you choose to include.

Out of the box, WordPress supports two primary types of content: static pages, and blog posts (articles). You can build a site that consists of only pages, only blog posts, or a combination of the two.

No matter what type of site you’re planning to build, you’ll find the WP101 tutorial series invaluable as you endeavor to learn how to use WordPress to create, edit, and manage your own web content.

Q: Can I use the same login for more than one user?
No, each membership entitles one user to access the videos. Our user management software only permits a user to login from a total of 3 IP addresses per day. If multiple users attempt to access the site via the same login, this IP limitation will block future attempts to login until the following day.

Q: Can I download the videos to my own computer?
No, the videos are only available for viewing on this site.

Q: Can I put these videos on my own site?
