Bambi
Dear Optimists,
As many have noticed the Clerk of the Weather has given the world tons of snow. Denmark is experiencing what feels like a minus a million degrees – and even though I do enjoy being able to feel my own face when being outside and being able to breathe without having my lungs turning into ice cubes, I do love me some snow!
In my opinion, snow is a necessity when it’s cold outside. Cold weather without any snow is just stupid.
So I took my dog, Camma, and Mum out iceskating. It was hilarious to see Camma acting like an insecure Bambi on ice. I couldn’t stop pointing and laughing my arse off.
Speaking of laughing “my arse off” – during one of Camma’s Bambi-stunts she slided at a great pace directly into me. I went flying and fell directly on my fallen off arse. Ouch!
(Drawing’s supposed to be moving -if it’s not? Go HERE!)
Karma’s a bitch.
Love,
Nadia.

Den Can’t Speak Danish
Dear Optimists,
The longer I work on this blog, the more I wish I could speak/write Danish. Since a large percentage of our readers are from Denmark, it just seems like something I wish I could do!
That, and sometimes I worry that my Danish friends on Facebook are saying stuff about me right in front of me and I don’t even know it. Especially since my name is actually a Danish word…
Love,
Den
P.S. Why do I have a weird feeling that our Danish readers might respond in Danish just to make me more paranoid?

Thank You! (This is not a guest post)
Dear Optimists,
Awards are so nice, aren’t they? And we wanted to thank everyone for the awards that have been bestowed upon our little blog. It’s so kind and thoughtful of everyone to think of us as award-winners.
That being said, we aren’t really show offs. It’s fun getting them, but we don’t feel the need to post them. As optimists, we want millions to read our blog, but we would never show off if our numbers were that high. And the two of us feel that some of these awards are created for the wrong reasons and ruin it for the rest, so we just choose to accept, smile, and say thank you.
Again, thank you so much and we love that so many people nominate us. We feel so loved and special when we receive such nice thoughts. We appreciate the many comments, emails and other pleasant correspondences with our readers and love every single one of you.
Thanks.
Love,
Den and Nadia

With or without a voice
Dear Optimists,
Have you ever considered what your life would be if you weren’t able to speak at all? Have you noticed how dependent we are of our ability to talk?
I lost my voice last Sunday (I’ve been suffering from false croup) – and even though I tend to lose my voice completely about twice a year, it never fails to amaze me how much our world is based on being able to communicate with one another.
Luckily, I found my voice lying around somewhere under the couch on Friday – about time, I must add, because people were getting tired of my weird gestures nobody seemed to understand and afterwards waiting for me to write down whatever I had to say.
But even though I found it, it seems to have forgotten that it used to belong to a 25-year-old female:
With or without a voice – I’m still ill. But now it’s way easier to ask my boyfriend to fix me soup/buy me sweets/caress me/change the channel because I’m definitely way too weak to do it myself!
Love,
Nadia.

Say Cheese!
Dear Optimists,
Do you have a favorite snack? No way, me too! What’s yours?
My personal favorite is cheese and crackers. I LOVE a good cheese and there’s nothing I enjoy more than trying new cheeses. I don’t have a favorite…I love so many. But some that I do love are: Havarti with dill, Brie, Wisconsin Cheddar, fresh mozzerella…this list could go on forever so I”ll stop there.
My second favorite snack is apples and peanut butter. Chunky, of course. I don’t trust people who like creamy peanut butter…it’s just not right!
This has been a really random post.
Love,
Den

Winners of the Skype Chat!
Dear Optimists,
Saturday Surprise! I was pretty surprised myself at how many people wanted to Skype with me! It’s nice that people think I’m interesting…I sure hope I can live up to the expectations. Maybe I should have a list of stuff to talk about just in case…
Anyway, I used an App similar to what Nadia did to generate random numbers. I decided I would allow two winners, but honestly, anyone else who really wanted to have a Skype chat with me can email me and I’ll do it…I’m a talker…I love chatting with people. Even those I don’t know. I end up talking to cashiers, waitresses and other people all of the time.
Anyway, the winners are Cafe 23 and Stacie Chadwick! But like I said, don’t be sad…contact me and we’ll figure out something.
Love,
Den

Busy? Busy!
Today’s illustrations are by Mette. Check out her blog!
Dear Optimists,
Busy busy busy. Sometimes we find ourselves so busy that we don’t get the chance to sit down and enjoy the simple things. And that is ME right now. Over the next two weeks, I will teach twenty-four college classes, work at six hockey games, write at least nine blog posts and still attempt to find time to write. Plus about five appointments that surround planning our wedding.
When will I find time to relax, enjoy my house, have some quality time with the fiancee?
Trust me, I will. I’m like that.
Love,
Den

A little piece of Heaven
Dear Optimists,
When I arrived home I hurried to open the package. That was when I noticed the plastic screen protector-thingy.
What was even more fantastic was the fact that there was one on the front and one on the back.
Sometimes I scare myself. But it’s the smaller things in life that counts, right?
Love,
Nadia.
PS. I’m still waiting for my SIM card, which means I can’t use this little piece of Heaven…
