Vera Wang 2012 Spring and Fall Collections
Vera Wang’s 2012 Spring collection is notable not only for the fact that the wedding dresses are beautiful (well there’s a surprise – ha!), but also because they’re colourful. Colour has been a flirtation in past Vera Wang collections, but this collection is a full blown affair. Beautiful, non?
The Vera Wang Fall 2012 Collection is a much moodier matter altogether – titled ‘Witchcraft’, there is not a white dress in sight.
As an ardent admirer of anything Vera Wang, I’m somewhat predictably enamoured, but can imagine it’s not to everyone’s taste. I do love the wintery feeling in the Fall collection which contrasts with the more cheery, lighter tones of the Spring collection.
Vera Wang is a heavily influential figure in the wedding industry so I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see brides venturing away from white and ivory.
So, would you wear a black wedding dress??

Two Peas {Too Cute}
This necklace and these earrings are so sweet, they’re bordering on saccharine. Nonetheless, if you’re of sentimental inclinations (don’t be ashamed, I too have been known for my mushy tendencies *hugs*) and want to wear something meaningful on your big day, what a lovely option. Pick ‘em up here »

Designer Spotlight | Sarah Jassir
Daniela from Sarah Jassir got in touch a few weeks ago about Sarah’s 2012 spring collections – I was immediately impressed, particularly with the wildly beautiful pink beaded gowns. Everything is cut exquisitely – the top left gown in the picture below is so stunning, I can feel rantiness threatening to spill over.
Sarah has worked for the likes of Amsale, Vera Wang, and Valentino – talent personified. To find out more, go to her website ».
Here’s a few of my favourites, but for more, see the gallery below:

Beyonce rocks bridal whatnots in her latest video
Beyonce has released a song and video centered around a woman getting married, which is here:
She has two wedding dresses (this whole two dresses gambit is getting really popular), both of which are ok – the second one (a Vera Wang) is nicer than the first, of which I am not a fan at all – way too froofy for my taste. But the underwear from the first scenes – WOW. It’s from Agent Provocateur, and it’s called the Penelope Basque – guaranteed to please.

…and I’m back!
Apologies for the lack of blog posts – I’ve had the week from hell. Four client’s websites were hacked (oh, what fun), but after several very late nights and stress levels through the roof, I think the end is in sight.
See you next week!

Something that made me laugh
Going on a flying fox in your wedding dress seems completely nuts anyway (yikes, imagine flashing your wedding night undies at your wedding guests, AND catching your gown in the wheel and leaving half of your skirt behind… classy), but going on a flying fox closely followed by your heavier groom without considering the laws of gravity is just… well, take a look.

Coast | solid budget wedding gown option
If you’re a bride on a budget, looking for a second wedding dress option (an increasingly fashionable thing to do, ‘specially after Kate went with two), or looking for a smart destination wedding gown, you could do a lot worse than Coast – they have lots of v. pretty options. Some of the dresses left me a little ‘meh’, but there are a few dazzlers there too, and for gowns ranging from £295 to £550, they’re worth a look.

Barcelona Bridal Week
One of the major fashion events on the bridal industry calender is the Barcelona Bridal Week, which was in mid May. And my goodness, there were some absolute stunners of dresses parading down the catwalks. I’ve put together some of my favourites from a few of the collections below – all images are copyright BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK.
