Personal Branding

Posted on January 31, 2012 by Teige

Quick test, what do the following symbols represent:

These brands are instantly recognizable and hold intensely ingrained meaning. When people look at them they immediately pull up thoughts, feelings and stories. For example, when I look at the Coke symbol, I can’t help but think of cold Coke’s on a hot summer day spent at the beach with my family.

While we can’t all have $100 Billion brands, we do need to care for our personal brand with the same intensity that our friends at Coke do.  The main reason:
If you don’t define your brand, someone else will do it for you

You may be thinking, “Does that mean I need to change my name to something like this:”

While it is a bold move, you already have a great symbol for your personal brand… your name!

Audioname is a great tool to help you define your personal brand. Consider adding a short personal story after your name during your Audioname recording. Make sure that you speak slowly and clearly and to ensure that your Audioname is being heard, put it everywhere you interact with customers, co-workers, peers, friends, etc.

Managing your personal brand just got a little easier with Audioname.

Posted on January 26, 2012 by Teige

One of the best things about Audioname is just how pervasive it can be. We want Audioname to be everywhere you interact with people on the web and we are working hard to get it there.

The folks over at Gravatar have an amazing product that can simplify your interactions on the web by creating a “Globally Recognized Avatar” (GRavatar…get it?)

While Audioname is working on streamlining the integration with Gravatar, you can still add it using the My Links on Gravatar. Here’s how:

More than just a name

Posted on January 23, 2012 by Teige

If you’ve ever purchased some Greek Yogurt, you’ve probably bought Fage. It’s a brand that has seen huge growth here in the United States during the recession. Furthermore, if you’ve ever purchased the yogurt, you may have noticed that on the label, they print the “pronunciation guide” for the name “Fa-yeh”.

Personally, that didn’t help me one bit in getting today’s name of the day’s correct pronunciation, but a news cast did:

How many times has my name been heard?

Posted on January 12, 2012 by Teige

Here at Audioname we get asked one question more than any other. It’s always asked with wide-eyed enthusiasm and excitement and is along the lines of, “How many times has my name been heard?”

“No problem,”  I respond, ”let me look that up really quick……well Jane Smith, you’re name has been heard twice.” Jane gives a deep sigh and says, “That’s it?”

“Well, where did you put your Audioname? Did you share it at all?”

With a puzzled looks she responds, “What do you mean ‘put it’?”

I’ve had this conversation enough now that I thought I would put together a list of the best ways to get your name heard:
