How Cats are Saving the World
Poet May Sarton said “Time spent with cats is never wasted.” Here’s why I think she’s right:
- Because there is evidence your cat’s presence is healing for you
- Because it’s a form of meditation when you are present with your cat
- Because quiet time with your cat really can bring out the best in you biologically and psychologically
- Because of the possibility of connecting to something larger than ourselves through animal friendships—through the mystery of the care a cat shows for us or through feeling an inexplicably soulful connection with a feline friend (as in the Soul Cat series)
That’s why I say cats are saving the world one human at a time.
