The NBA’s first and only female scout Bonnie-Jill Laflin told Fitness Magazine what she prefers putting her hands on, second to contracts and basketballs.

“A lot of people say “ugh” when I say tofu, but if you stir fry it, it’s great!” Laflin said. “Just mix veggies, tofu and soy sauce and you have a meal. I have a big sweet tooth, so I’m happy chocolate is vegetarian!”

Tofu and chocolate do make great vegetarian foods. And who says you can’t combine them together?

Before you say “ugh” to the silken soy product, try this recipe for Tofu Chocolate Pudding, guaranteed to be the star at halftime.

“So many people tell me they could never be vegan. I just wish people would understand and realize that it’s really not that difficult, and it’s a choice that we make—I think that it is in everybody’s grasp to be able to make a decision like switching to a vegan lifestyle. One of my proudest accomplishments has been going vegan.”

–Canadian figure skating pair champion Meagan Duhamel, in an interview with VegNews about how diet affects her career as a professional athlete. Duhamel has won both Four Continents and Canadian National bronze and silver medals and is training for the 2014 Olympics, where she’ll probably fuel up on plenty of “homemade bread, pumpkin-apple butter, granola, cookies, trail mixes, and snacks like that.”
