Creative Genesis: 2080: “My Mega Drive” Video

Normally, we don’t update on the weekends. However, this was just too good to leave until Thursday for a feature update! Internet band 2080 has crafted an incredible song about the Sega Genesis called “My Mega Drive,” and it even released an official video to go with it, all in glorious 16-bit style!

The march of new technology has managed to breathe new life into our old consoles, enriching our established gaming experiences and adding new ones to what most people consider to be dead machines. Matthias Hullin has undertaken one such project. His Retrode is a device that allows gamers to use their original Genesis and SNES cartridges with a PC emulator.

However, long before it went Hentai, Valis began its downward slide with a game that proved Telenet simply no longer cared. This is what we got instead of a true Valis II port…

A shooter on the Sega CD should be a good thing. Games like Android Assault shows that such a thing is possible. Even adding full-motion video doesn’t equate to a lost cause, as Silpheed proves. It’s not always peanut butter and chocolate though, and a game like Novastorm shows more of what could have been than what is.

FIFA Soccer ’96

Sandwiched between the 16-bit and true 32-bit versions, FIFA Soccer ’96 for the 32X is a middle child that actually deserves its neglect. It does nothing to stand out, and it offers little reason for a purchase over its siblings, outside of collecting. Still, it’s undoubtedly the best soccer game on the 32X.
