Promoting poetry books and your poetry is very similar to promoting any other type of writing, using many of the ideas that have already been introduced on this blog.  Some of the posts that you might find helpful include the following, titles are clickable:

Another place you might like to promote your work is on a popular site called Squidoo.  It already has good rankings in search engines, and with a little keyword research, and making the page look interesting with pictures and content…which for a writer should come naturally…you may be surprised at the visits that you will receive.

One poetry author that is using Squidoo is Dell Ann Ray – she has a sample of her poetry on the topic of foster care, and interesting way to share about something she cares about. As she continues to update and add to her pages, they will increase in the rankings and receive more and more visits.

If you are interested in promoting your poetry or book through Squidoo, I would be happy to do a page for you for a  reasonable cost (contact me with a comment…they are moderated and I will not publish your request.   Or you can do one yourself by visiting this link to get started.
