Interview: Dr. Pamela Gay

Dr. Pamela Gay is an American astronomer, educator, podcaster, and writer. Best known for her work in astronomical podcasting, she currently works with Fraser Cain in co-hosting Astronomy Cast. In 2002, she received her PhD in Astronomy from the University of Texas, Austin.

Today, her main affiliation is as a visiting assistant professor of Physics at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. There she teaches introductory physics and astronomy courses.

She is on the Council for the American Association of Variable Star Observers, as well as its Educational Committee Chair

We last spoke with Pamela in 2005 when Technorama was first getting started and she hosted a popular podcast called Slacker Astronomy – It’s been three years – we thought it was time to catch up.
