I’m Angelina Veni Johanna (Veni), a sophomore at Stanford University. I am Indonesian and a proud alumna of  SMAK 1 Penabur Jakarta. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science – I interned at Facebook’s Core Systems team on Summer ’11.

On campus, I lead Indonesian Club at Stanford, organize quarterly events for Stanford ACM, and help coordinate The Stanford Summit 2012 with Stanford’s Asia Pacific Students Entrepreneurial Society. I enjoy liaising with people from my home country for my work with student organizations at Stanford. At my spare time, I follow a bunch of TV series and play badminton regularly.

As a competitive programmer in high school, I represented my country to International Olympiad in Informatics at Bulgaria, where I earned a silver. Prior to studying in the US, I was an active informatics trainer to fellow high school students in several schools in the country and Jakarta state team for National Olympiad. I am deeply concerned on informatics education in Indonesia, particularly  for people in remote areas and women, and in that regard I made training materials available publicly in this page.

This blog is a collection of my random thoughts and experience, also my reflections on different aspects of Indonesia as I live and study in the US. Most of my writings will be in Bahasa Indonesia.
