I’m just an ordinary guy with what I think is extraordinary love for music. As a kid, I learned math easily because I memorized all the radio stations available in the radio tuner. So I had an early idea what decimals were. There was even a phase when the radio was my imaginary friend, my imaginary twin. Yeah, that’s how odd I am. Haha. You know the show Glee? Sometimes I do what they do; I zone out and imagine my life as a musical. Hahaha! I like music. I think you get it now.
Now, let’s talk about my taste for music. I like a really wide variety of music, mainly mainstream music though. I am not a music snob. I like pop as much as I like novelty songs, folk music, country, hiphop, blues, rock. I don’t listen to music for the coolness of it. I like songs on a personal level, so it doesn’t matter to me if it’s an indie act or an artist signed with a major recording label. If I like the song, I like it and recommend it. If I don’t like it, then I usually forget about it. Some people might critique music by its technical aspects, but I’d rather write about music and how it makes me feel.
I let the music flow into me without any expectations. It’s almost like breathing the way I let it enter my system. Once inside me, I let the song consume me from within and take me on a mental or emotional or spiritual wave. That’s how I know if I like a song. If it’s very easy for me to “ride” and how “high” it can take me.
