Backyard Camping
September 4th 2009 21:49
Have you wanted to do something with the kids but are either lacking the funds to do something interesting or you just are unable to get the time off work. Try backyard camping with the kids. Hopefully you have the room in the yard to toss up the tent, pack a picnic basket and restrict all activity to the house to just bathroom breaks and showers and you can experience a fun and interesting time in your backyard alone.
Make sure you prepare for this camping trip as you would any other camping trip and get the kids geared up for your camping vacation. While this may not be a fun activity for the older kids with their parents its a fun vacation to do smaller children. The younger kids will enjoy sleeping outside of the house and it will give them the experience of taking a mini vacation without the cost of a full camping vacation or the time restraints of a busy working parents job.
If you are unable to make a fire in your backyard you can always convert a backyard charcoal grill into a small fire pit that even your neighbors wont mind. You will be able to cook hotdogs and make smores over your name shift fire pit.
Your kids will enjoy the effort you put into their backyard camping if you put little twists on things and try to make it was unique and interesting as possible.
