Bada down the drain

In contrary what we believed before and even mentioned in our last blog post BADA is dead...
Yes it is for real! Samsung has announced that it will be replacing BADA with the new linux-based OS Tizen. This Tizen has been developed in cooperation with Intel and Samsung says that it will phase out BADA this year already to replace it with Tizen. The first 2 Tizen based phones should be released this year.

Bada + TomTom = :)

The very famous navigator software and car devices TomTom has made an announcement that they will be supplying Samsung Bada OS of their maps and apps. The Wave 3, will be the first smartphone with TomTom's maps. TomTom claims to have signed a strategic partnership with Samsung for its own Bada OS. Samsung will include TomTom maps of more than 200 countries. In addition, all maps will be added by POI information and 3D maps of cities. Traffic and speed camera's will also be provided by TomTom to Samsung.

There is as yet nothing said about release dates nor prices for this service. However wouldn't it be bomb if Samsung decides to incorporate TomTom in their Bada phones for free? This could give Bada that extra push it needs. ... Read More -->

Samsung Captivate Glide rooting + CarrierIQ removal

I just got my hands on the Samsung Captivate Glide and I'm very happy with it!
It is a bit weird that this phone is only available in the USA, I had to buy it at Amazon, then get it to Europe with a special shipping service. However all went smooth and it is now in my hand!

The problem; it is of course locked on AT&T (other option was Rogers I927r), and AT&T, the bastards, are still using that CarrierIQ crap. In case you missed the CarrierIQ debacle read more about it at the Washington Post website.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our visitors and supporters.
We had a flying start after which it became a bit calmer, this was mostly our fault as due lack of time and the fact that the site is still not completely what we want it to be (especially the Samsung product database still needs a lot of work). Samsung wins from Apple in Australia

The Australian highest court has ruled there is no further basis for the block on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 sales in Australia. This win for Samsung couldn't come at a better time so close to Christmas.

In the end all Apple has achieved with this ridiculous quest of them is make this product more and more wanted, and now that it will be available just before christmas I wouldn't be surprised there is going to be a run on this product for christmas gifts.
