Advanced Space Academy challenges high school trainees, in the science and technology of the space program.
Advanced Space Academy® trainees are immersed in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) while focusing on college and career preparation. Extended-duration missions give trainees more teamwork experience to prepare them for real world leadership and teamwork.
During this weeklong program, trainees get hands-on training, as well as learn about the mental, emotional and physical demands astronauts, engineers and technologists must face. Trainees experience microgravity in our Underwater Astronaut Trainer* and a tumble in our Multi-Axis Trainer.
The Advanced Space Academy program is a college-accredited program through the University
of Alabama-Huntsville (UAHuntsville). Students earn one hour of freshman-level general science credit. Students also receive an information sheet explaining how they can have the credit transferred to another college or even their high school to be part of their official transcript.

Generally, arrival for this program is Sunday 12-2:00 pm and graduation is 11am Friday Graduation usually lasts one hour. Specialty and off season sessions may have different arrival and graduation times. You may call 1.800.63.SPACE for seasonal and specialty scheduling. Please confirm your arrival and departure times prior to planning your travel. All times are subject to change. Upon registration, you will receive your verified arrival and departure times.

*If you are 18 and have graduated from high school, you may only attend a youth program through August of your graduation year. Past that time you are no longer eligible to attend a youth program, but you may register for one of our adult programs.
**Certain medical conditions may prohibit trainee from diving.
