matzombie asked: I like your podcast. Didn't think i would at first. Good to listen to on long trips. I hate on the same guys you do, but, i didn't like lil scrappy until after one of you guys played weed and shoes. What is up with that song Serg put on last time? You guys kno which one. Dat shit sounded like something Spongebob would listen to while flipping crabby patties. Anyway, Stay Hatin and show the west coast some love.

I’m surprised we never got around to publishing this comment previously but I’m pretty sure this was yet another response to the Zackey Force Funk song we played in episode 17.  People sure do love writing to tell us they hate that one.

Anonymous asked: What was up with the "pause" discussion in the last podcast? Good for Serg for not participating in this trend, and a bad look for Matt Africa for his weak defense of it. It's 2012 and I don't think anyone is going to think "Damn, Matt Africa didn't object to a benign comment that could somehow be construed as gay! Let's tweet the world about this!!" If you're going to host a chin-stroking, intellectual podcast about modern rap music, you're too old for this "pause" bullshit.

I continue to say “pause” because even in 2012 it still amuses me to do so.  For what it’s worth, my name is Matthew and hosting a chin-stroking, intellectual podcast is probably the last thing we aspire to. - Matthew

    Episode 18

    Stay Hatin’ for President!

Stay Hatin’, the podcast that could not be stopped, is back. This week the world’s most hatin’-est crew talks about regional dance records, buying Skrillex shirts at Hot Topic and whether it’s actually possible to bite A$AP Rocky.

Also, this week, Stay Hatin’ lays out its contract with America— pro-fistfight, anti-child trafficking, pro-victimless crime and anti-anti-gay.

Here are links to some things we mention in the podcast:

9th Ward Tea: “Pull A Muscle”

    Nicki Minaj: “Stupid Hoe”

Matthew got confused and referred to Africans “showering” musicians, when he should have said “spraying” and noted that the practice may be limited to fans of juju musicians. It’s real, though.

Matthew also mentioned an episode of Killer Mike’s short-lived Grind Time Sports Show, which used to appear at superdeluxe.com. Unfortunately, after Adult Swim took over Super Deluxe, all of Killer Mike’s videos disappeared from the Internet. You should probably write your congress(wo)man. Or just vote Stay Hatin’ in 2012.

Here are the songs we played:

    1.               Lil Chuckee – Wop

    2.               Alley Boy – Cops On the Block

    3.               FKi – Eyes Low feat. Travis Porter

    4.               Roach Gigz – Wasabi

    5.               Donnis – Benjamin Franklin feat. Jay Ant & IAMSU

    6.               Nima Fadavi – I Be On the Turf feat. Philthy Rich,
Scoot (The Hoodstarz), Drew Deezy & Big Seff

    7.               Cook The Monster, Wooh Da Kid & Fetti Gang – Topless

    8.               CHiEF Keef – Winning feat. King Louie

    9.               T-Rock – Make Me Rich

    10.             Zavey – Freaks

    11.             Tum Tum – Let Her Ride feat. Killa Kyleon & Big Sant

    12.             Denzel AquariusKilla CuRRy – Raven Miyagiheadcrack

    13.             Young Scooter – 77 Birds feat. Gucci Mane

    14.             I-20 – I’m the Man feat. Killa Kyleon

    15.             Sucka Teejay – Come Up

    16.             Joe Blow – Still Beatin’ N____s Up Remix feat. Lil Rue

    17.             Suga Free & Pimpin Young – Shit Chea feat. Moosie

Here is a .zip of those songs.

The Legend of the Lost Stay Hatin’ Episode

A fortnight ago, three druids solemnly convened to record their ancient wisdom that they might share it with the rap world.  After imbibing a mystical potion, they gathered in their studio and recorded a podcast more mighty than any the internet has heretofore seen.

They offered pronouncements on subjects vital to the fate of rap music, such as whether it’s really necessary for Big K.R.I.T. to rap, whether any rapper regularly makes videos featuring ladies more unattractive than those in Droop-E’s videos and the implications of Nacho Picasso’s pledge that “when [he’s] rammin’, she gon’ need a stand-in”.  Deeply moved by the proceedings, the bearded wise man known only as Soft Money even sang a heart-rending tribute to his Uncle Jojo (this was later determined to have been inspired by Soft Money’s mishearing of a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony lyric).

    All was not well, however.

Sensing a threat to their empire of enforced blandness and mediocrity, the forces of darkness rallied to their evil leader, Aubrey Graham.  Channeling all of their power, they chanted incantations through a dark cauldron, casting a spell on Stay Hatin’s intern, Kenny.  Under their sinister power, Kenny sabotaged the recording, turning 80 minutes of supreme wisdom into an incomprehensible jumble of white noise.

The forces of darkness rejoiced.  The mighty podcast would never air, for they had eliminated all traces of it.  Or so they thought.

We now bring to you the only surviving evidence of the mighty podcast, a .zip folder of 17 songs allegedly discussed by the Stay Hatin’ druids during the lost recording.  It is our hope that you will carefully study these scrolls and discover their hidden meaning(s), that you may carry the torch of rap music against the forces of darkness.

americanjanvesely asked: when's the next episode coming?

soon hopefully, we recorded last friday but I don’t know if it will be posted as there looks to be an issue with the recording. Either way for the most part it looks like we’ve been shooting for a new show every two weeks

Anonymous asked: yo would love to check out this podcast but can't get it to work on the internet, or on itunes on computer/iphone. am i the only one having issues?

have you tried manually inputing the rss link into itunes? It’s under the advanced menu in itunes, when the window pops up asking for a url, use this: stayhatin.com/rss

considering you mentioned your phone I assume you have searched for Stay Hatin in the itunes store and tried that. If the itunes link doesn’t work it may be your itunes/account. I know of one other person with that issue but it ended up being an issue with multiple podcasts not on our end.

If that still doesn’t work you can go to the directory of the files here and download them all individually.

If you can’t even get them to play via the player on the actual site you should make sure your flash player is updated and maybe try a different browser, hell if anything right click the episode link and save target as.

Anonymous asked: that zackey force funk "song" is just about the worst shit you guys have ever played

Oh look, someone thinks I give a fuck what they think about music I like. The day I don’t play a song because of what someone I don’t know might think is the day stay hatin will end.
