Orthopedic Sports Medicine Specialist
Dr. David Lintner specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder and is active in teaching orthopedic surgeons the latest techniques. He also specializes in injuries to throwers’ shoulders and elbows, having written more than thirty scientific articles about ACL injuries, thrower’s injuries, and other sports medicine issues. In 2011 Dr. Lintner was named to the US News and World Report’s ‘The Best Doctors in America”.
In June 2005, Dr. Lintner was named Chief of Sports Medicine at the The Methodist Hospital in Houston after serving in a similar capacity at Baylor College of Medicine for four years.
He is the past President of the Major League Baseball Team Physicians Association, and a member of the Baseball Commissioner’s Medical Advisory Committee. He served as the physician for the World Baseball Classic in 2009, and continues in the capacity as the Head Team Physician for the Houston Astros, as well as Team Orthopedist for the Houston Texans.
He served as the original Head Team Physician for the Houston Dynamo Major League Soccer Team, and is also the Head Team Physician for Lee College, in addition to caring for many high schools in the Greater Houston area.
Dr. Lintner has been published extensively in orthopedic literature and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also Board Certified in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.
