How to Enable Javascript in IE8 (Internet Explorer 8)

Javascript is is a prototype-based object-oriented scripting language which enables web programmers to design interactive web sites. Most of today’s web sites uses Javascript to enhance user’s surfing experience.

Most of web sites require JavaScript in order to function properly, such as Facebook, Gmail, Amazon and Twitter and so forth. If the Scripting setting is disable in your web browser, you might be unable to view pop-up windows, to use the interactive form and to upload pictures smoothly.

Here is a step by step tutorial tutorial on how to enable Javascript in your web browser, use the following steps that apply to Internet Explorer series (IE 5/6, IE 7, IE 8), the screenshots of example might be different, but the process is the same.

How to Enable Javascript in IE 8

Step 1: Access Internet Options in Menu Bar

The first is to find an option called Internet Options in IE. The menu bar is hidden by default on Windows 7 and Windows Vista, if you don’t see the menu bar on your Internet Explorer, press key F10 or Alt to show it.

You can also find the option in right-hand side. Click “Tools”, select “Internet Options” as shown on the screenshot picture.

Step 2: Adjust Security Settings

In Internet Options, Click on the “Security” tab, then click on “Custom level” button.

Scroll down the dialog box, and click “Enable” for “Active Scripting” in the “Scripting” section.

A warning dialog will ask to confirm the operation. Click “Yes”.

Click on the “OK” button to save the changes. Return to the previous page which did not work without JavaScript, and then press key “F5″ to refresh the page, it should work with Javascript successfully.
