Every once in a while I open myself up to exlpore music I do not neccessarily like. There are some aspects of Hard Core I like and that is sometimes I like the music, the guitars and the heavy drums. I do not like the vocal aspect. That said there is cliche of folks in Worcester who are into it.

On Saturday, Febuary 11th 2012 I decided to check out a few bands at London Billiards on James St.in Worcester, MA. The line up (pictures below) included seven bands. They were; Imposter, Mechanical Process, The Grave, Sinners, Our Darkest Day and Seven Minute Stagger.   Now rather than comment on the individual bands I'mjust going to make some brief observations here.  One thing I noticed that these musicians are a tight group all together. They support each others' time on stage and enjoy listenng to each other. Not what you'd expect from what appears to be an angry loud sound that they emit. I can relate to that and in a strange way I think there music serves them well as an outlet to vent.  It keeps them peacfull amongst their peers. When I was younger I used to write poetry and song lyrics as way to vent. Sometimes I stil do. What ever the reason, Hard core music certainly invites the listener to vent along with the band in the form of their style of dance. Most know it as bashing, I think that is the term.
