This weekend is a pampering and indulging weekend for me.

I will soak in the tub, read a good book, eat healthy and sleep more.

What are your plans?

Happy weekend to each and every one of you!

Have fun!

Sisters by heart
Filed under: thumbs up! on February 3, 2012

Every one of us should have close women friends with whom we feel a kinship with. Those we can call sisters by heart. Those friends who will warn us when they feel we are about to commit a huge mistake and who will stand by us no matter if we committed that huge mistake. Those are the girl friends I am talking about.

If you have a great girl friend who doesn’t have someone to celebrate Valentine’s Day with, buy gifts for girlfriends and give one to her.

She deserves it for sticking it out with you over the years!

Make her feel special
Filed under: thumbs up! on February 3, 2012

I told my best friend to keep up the good work of making her woman happy. He sends her flowers via EZBloomers.com flower delivery not only on special occasions but also whenever he feels like it. His wife is very happy with him and is vocal about how much she loves him.

I really think that the little sweet gestures can go a long way. It can make her feel special even when she’s feeling low. Women can sometimes feel so lonely and sad and unloved due to hormones. But if her man knows when to get the flower delivery guy to come and hand over the lovely bouquet, then his woman is one lucky gal!

Directions please

Oscar was asking directions to get to the store that sells Marcus nursing scrubs. I told him that instead of asking directions to go to the store, I will give him directions on how he can find the same scrubs online. He said yes and I wrote a note on a piece of paper.

He came back the next day to thank me for the help. He used to ran around the city to complete errands and generally buy at designated stores. But when I told him to shop online, he realized he’s been wasting his time traveling around and being stuck in traffic jams when he can order and pay online and then wait for delivery to arrive.

I saw this in Pinterest and immediately fell in love with it!

I love any Roman-type sandals. I love flats and anything that I can feel totally comfortable wearing. I hope I can find that photo above locally. I want the same style and design so I hope I can find the same one.

An alternative
Filed under: fo' one one on February 3, 2012

I was talking to one of my cousins the other day about getting an online college degree. He just finished one year of IT education then he had to drop out due to lack of educational fund to use. My aunt/her mom didn’t have enough money to support another year of college so she told him right away and he made the decision to stop and work for now.

My cousin now wants to go back to school and take up the remaining three years he has on IT education. He might continue or shift to another course. He is still weighing his options.

Creativity
Filed under: thumbs up! on February 3, 2012

One of the things I learned the past couple of months is how to become creative. There was a period when income was down so I had to resort to creativity when giving gifts so that I could still give something beautiful and personal yet affordable or even very cheap.

Now that income is back to normal, I still use what I learned when giving out gifts. For this coming Valentine’s Day, I thought why not get some valentines photo frames, put a special photo of me with the recipient, and then wrap it with a ribbon. Personalized and affordable!

A little creativity can go a long way.

Mountain biking
Filed under: fo' one one on February 3, 2012

So Milton was checking out suv bike racks online when my brother saw him. He is into biking. He told my brother that he will be going on his first mountain biking even this coming March so he is preparing for it. He is training and preparing himself physically and mentally for the grueling event.

When my brother told me about it, I was a little bit jealous. I’ve always wanted to learn how to ride a bicycle but we were not allowed when we were younger. Accidents happened to some relatives and my mom got scared of seeing us hurt. Biking could have been a hobby of mine and I could probably go mountain biking as well.

Homemade snicker bars
Filed under: bliss on February 3, 2012

I have a sweet tooth. Whenever I smell something sweet, my mouth immediately waters. It is my weakness. The reason why I doubt I will lose weight is because I know for a fact that I can’t go on a day without tasting something sweet. I was telling myself yesterday that I will stop with the chocolates. And then I saw this…

Homemade snicker bars!!!

Ah, where did my resolve to lose weight go?!?

Small request
Filed under: fo' one one on February 3, 2012

Uncle Fred has a small request from cousin Dee… help in the installation of wall switch plates. It’s a request borne out of Uncle Fred’s frustration from being rheumatic. He couldn’t hold the tools properly anymore so he really needs to ask someone to help him out at home for quick fixes and repairs.

Of course, cousin Dee said yes right away! We all pitch in when possible to subtly help out Uncle Fred. Sometimes his pride prevents him from asking our help out. But most of the time he really asks anyone of his nephews and nieces to help him in a small task at home.

Nervous wreck!
Filed under: so sad on February 3, 2012

Grandma is not feeling well. We are all worried about her so we decided that a medical check-up is needed. We don’t want her to end up ignoring the shortness of breath she’s experiencing at night time and the weakness when getting up. We all need to know what’s happening so that we can address it properly and if she needs electrosurgery then we are going to go pay for it so she can have it done right away! We are a nervous wreck and we just want to know what’s going on.

We all love our fussy grandma. She is very vocal about her love for each one of us her grandchildren so it is but natural for us to love her back a hundredfold.

Me this coming weekend.
Filed under: bliss on February 3, 2012

With the hectic week about to end, I want to picture myself enjoying an early morning treat. Pastries or pasta or plain rice meal. I want to put my feet up and just stare at the distance.

I want to relax!

I need relaxation this coming weekend or I might explode from the stress of everything around me.

Kitchen heaven
Filed under: fo' one one on February 3, 2012

I have a dream. That dream involves a kitchen that resembles one in those architecture digest magazines I read regularly. I want that kind of kitchen! There ought to be a sub zero fridge, sienna sinks stainless steel sinks, an oven, a kitchen island, a functioning faucet, no leaking pipes and complete kitchen supplies!

I want all that and more! I want to be able to learn how to bake. I want to cook more. I want my kitchen to be bright and sunny and filled with the aroma of home-cooked goodies! I want my kitchen heaven and I am hoping I can get that built soon.

I swear I am always so darn tired when I get home! Too many tasks to do and the kids are always yelling over games their voices seem to be a hundred nails being driven by a hundred hammers! I am just thankful that even with little sleep, I function like as if I am powered by a duracell procell aa battery. Yes, I am now a semi-robot! Hahaha!

Don’t get me wrong. I love what I do. I love teaching. Being with kids is a breeze for me. But the noise level sometimes can get into my head and produce one massive headache. And then when I get home I have a couple more tasks to complete before I can rest.

What can I say? I am a busy girl!

Loving it!
Filed under: thumbs up! on February 3, 2012

There are persons you just love giving presents to. These are individuals who know how to say thanks for and value the gift you have given them. My brother’s girlfriend’s dad is such a person. My brother gave him swisher sweets cigars because he learned from his girlfriend that the old man loves cigars. To show my brother just how much he appreciates the gift, he has it on whenever he comes for a visit. He smokes it every other night and especially when my brother’s at their place.

It’s just his way of showing him that he is loving the gift and that he is actually using it.

My brother’s glad that his gesture is appreciated.

The bond between mother and child
Filed under: bliss on January 28, 2012

I don’t think there’s an exact explanation to the bond that exists between mother and child. Aside from the fact that the child grew in the mother’s womb, it is the mother’s heartbeat that the child gets to hear first above all else.

The quote above says it all. The love of a mother to her child is absolute just as the bond between them is the same.

Bookworm sister
Filed under: bookworm on January 27, 2012

I swear my older sister is the bookwormiest of all! A day won’t be complete without her checking the latest in fiction novels. She is subscribed to Goodreads and several well-known authors through their web sites, Facebook and Twitter accounts. She makes sure to know the novels making it to the bestseller’s list. She is that of a bookworm!

So when I came across these barnes & noble coupons, I know right away that I will tell my sister about it. She will surely squeal with joy over it! I can already see a package or two of new books arriving at our doorstep very soon.

My growing number of godsons
Filed under: thumbs up! on January 27, 2012

The number of godsons I have is growing by leaps and bounds. Every month it seems a friend or co-worker of mine gives birth and I always receive a call or a text message informing me of being godmother to their child. No problem with me. My godsons outnumber my goddaughters. That’s why I am always ready with gifts for boys. It is best to be ready with it so that whenever I will be invited to a special occasion in their lives, I have a gift ready to bring with me.

I may be doing something good to be always considered a second mother to young kids!

;)
