Wedding Earrings You can Make

November 8th 2011 00:49
It is not hard to create an exquisite look for your wedding day that is customized to your style. Designing your own wedding earrings can be exciting and really quite easy to do.
I will show you a pair I made out of crystals from an antique chandelier. You dont even need that many supplies for this.
This one is for a double crystal earring:
Four small round crystal prisms (about 1 inch each)
Earring hooks
4 jump rings in gold color
You can do these in sterling silver or gold. Craft stores have from the cheaper supplies to much more expensive ones like silver and gold findings.

Opening a jump ring: Use two fine nosed plyers and open ring opposite ways. If you do it this way, you will be able to close the ring completely.
Open two jump rings and join the two crystals by using the hole at the bottom and top of the first two crystals. Close the jump ring as stated above. Repeat for the second set of crystals.
Take the next two jump rings and attach them to the hole at the top or if the metal nail is still in tact, just attach it to the metal nail. Make sure the metal nail is looped so that it will not disconnect.
Before closing the last jump rings hook them into the earring hoop and then close jump rings.

Now you have a Beautiful pair of Earrings!

Weddings Resembling the Past

February 7th 2011 23:49

Did you ever dream of having a wedding that resembles another place in time? It is easy to create this type of wedding for yourself with nostalgia. You can do this by shopping online or by visiting antique or second hand shops.
It all depends on your taste if you want to create an entire wedding from the past or just a small portion of it. A small portion of it may be just decorating with antique chandelier prisms. To create an image from the past for the entire wedding you may want to have your wedding party dress from an era in time, like Victorian times. Costumes are available for rental for this purpose.

This will take some planning and some research as well. You will need to do research online as well as at the library on the types of clothes (including shoes and hats, stockings) that the era wore to make it realistic.
You may even want to look up traditional customs of the weddings at that time. The food may even be made and served as it was in that particular era. If you chose the Victorian era for your wedding, you would have to choose a specific time era as it changed as time went on as fashion always does.
If you want your music to reflect the theme of your wedding, you will need to do your research on this as well. Whether you hire someone or have a DJ, you can work your theme into this as well.
The dcor is most important if you want to create an illusion of a certain era. It can be done professionally or you can do it yourself. You may even be able to rent some of the items you need for dcor from some antique shops so you wont have to buy items you may not need later.
If you decide you want this kind of wedding, hire a good photographer. With all the effort that will be put into such a fantastic wedding, you will want to remember it well in photographs.

Preserve A Wedding Cake

February 10th 2010 16:20
If youre getting married anytime soon, here is the best way to preserve a wedding cake to insure that it will make it to your first anniversary celebration. There is no guarantee it will taste as fresh as the day of your wedding but it will look appealing and survive the ordeal.
After you carefully get the top tier of your wedding cake safely home, there are certain methods to preserve it properly. The first step to help preserve your wedding cake the right way is to put it in the refrigerator to chill it. This will prevent the icing from sticking to anything it is wrapped with. Most likely, the frosting will be soft anyway by the time you get it home so its best to chill it first. This will insure that you preserve the wedding cake properly and you lose as little of the icing as possible. If you are leaving immediately for your honeymoon and wont have time to do it, send it home with a friend who you trust with instructions on what to do.
The best thing to wrap your wedding cake in is Saran Wrap or a similar brand plastic wrap. This will help your wedding cake to be as moist and tasty as it can be when you thaw it out a year later. You should wrap it carefully but not too tightly.
Now you can put your cake in an air tight container or a freezer bag that is big enough. If you scan some local department stores, you may find a freezer container with a good seal to lock out air. Plan ahead so you will know what to do with your cake. You may be able to find specific containers for this purpose at wedding stores in your area or online.
At your one year anniversary, thaw out your wedding cake before you cut it. It may not taste as good as on your wedding day but if you followed these steps, you will have preserved it to the best of your ability. It is more about the tradition than the taste of the cake.

Plan A Cheap Honeymoon

February 9th 2010 20:07
If you don't want to create a huge amount of debt before you're even married, learn how to plan a cheap honeymoon.
When you want to plan a cheap honeymoon, you must have a budget. A cheap honeymoon is only inexpensive but that doesn't mean it will be less enjoyable or even less luxurious. It can be exciting and wonderful but for less money. Decide how much you will set aside for the budget and stick to it. Consider the time of year you are getting married in and whether it is off season or the peak of the season at the place you want to honeymoon at.
Set aside some time to list your top 5 locations you want to go. Make a list so you can eliminate as you go, according to your budget.

Perfume that Compliments your Wedding Flowers

August 31st 2009 23:53
You may not have thought of this little detail for your wedding but the perfume you wear is important. It may not compliment the scent of your Wedding flowers and may actually clash with them. You may want to let your flowers be the lead in scents for the day and go easier on your perfume scent.
The best way to see if they compliment each other is to start early to try to match a scent. Knowing which ones may go together can be a matter of trial and error.
In order to choose you need to know which types of fragrances to choose from:

Accessories for your Wedding Gown

August 31st 2009 00:50

Now that you have chosen your Bridal gown, its time to get down to the real fun that will accent your gown. Choosing the right accessories can be tricky and take some time. It all depends on your gown and your taste in accessories.
You should start with matching earrings and Necklace. Necklaces with drop diamonds or pearls are very popular but these only look great if you neckline on your dress is a V-neck. The earring should match. Wedding stores and online wedding stores sell sets of these for weddings.
