The Samsung NS310 was first seen way back in January. Those with a good memory will remember that this model is essentially an update to the old N310 Go Netbook. Solar powered computer released

Samsung launched a fully solar powered netbook: the Samsung NC215S netbook. This is the first fully solar powered computer in the world. In the Samsung press release it says that for every 2 hour in the sun the battery has 1 hour of usage. Samsung has made claim that a user can get up to 14 hours of battery life in "ideal conditions." The computer will be released in the United States, Russia and Africa on July 3 for $399. Do you like modding? Find out how stuff works and find out the details of a product? Well the guys from iFixit have taken apart the Samsung ChromeBook and rated the 'repairability' of the Chromebook. What they came up with is a score of 6 out of 10. They list the following important points:

SSD, Wi-Fi, and WWAN, and most other components are individual modules that can be replaced independently
Display is very easy to remove
Mostly-plastic construction feels a little cheap
RAM is not replaceable

Pre-Order Samsung Chromebook UK

The new Samsung ChromeBook is now on pre-order in the UK and in the US with Amazon. So if you want to be one of the first head over to the Amazon website and you get have one in your hands soon!
Note, there are actually two versions available to buy:

WiFi - For access to WiFi hotspots (GBP 350)
3G - For access to the mobile phone networks (GBP 99)

Samsung Chromebook Preview

The upcoming ulta portable Chrome OS netbook from Samsung has been tested by the guys at Engadget and they really seemed to like it. The mentioned it has the best track pad ever and noted some specifications like 0.79-inch height, the solid build, 2 USB 2.0 ports, SD card slot, sim slot and a crisp and very sharp (1200 x 800) screen. The Samsung Series 5 'Chromebook' has been spotted listed up at Amazon.com along with a dedicated Chomebook store. If you are not familiar with this new netbook / laptop concept, the Chromebook portable PC is built and optimised for the web. The idea being that most of us do most of our work via the web anyway, so why include anything else!
