A week at Space Academy is an intense experience designed to immerse middle school students or trainees, in the science and technology of the space program.
Space Academy® incorporates real world applications of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Trainees will prepare to become the new generation of lunar explorers, with hands-on activities that place them in the role of spacecraft designers and astronauts on the moon.
Trainees experience walking on the moon in our 1/6th Gravity Chair and feel what it’s like to work in a frictionless environment in our Manned Maneuvering Unit. They’ll build and launch (weather permitting) a two-stage rocket and learn teamwork and leadership at Area 51, our leadership reaction course.
Trainees will face exciting challenges in our Space Station Mission Complex. Technically challenging anomalies will task trainees to use all their knowledge and critical thinking skills to solve the problem and save the mission!
