The Milano Thing launch party: thank you!

spacer

Thank you guys for coming at the launch party for The Milano Thing magazine in via Laghetto 9. It was a success! More than one hundred people showed up to celebrate with us. Good music, good beer and nice faces made that night a fun night. A big thank you goes to Marco Gabriele Lorusso and Gigio Moratti for supporting us with the location, Seby from Club Silencio, Death in Plains, and our sponsor Duvel beer that played a fundamental role in creating the perfect mood and atmosphere. On Vimeo a short video by Micole “Vincent Moon” Basile.

That’s how we have been doing the poster that is hopefully hanging on your walls

This has been our first approach to screen printing. Unfortunately the guy at the printing shop sold us a pvc color instead of the less smelly water color. Seriously, we have never felt such a bad smell. We got intoxicated and felt high for the next two days, but it was definitely worth it. By the way, forgive us for the technique, we are amateurs.

This is going to be useful: Handy Sealer

No really, it’s great. We got one thousand plastic bag to seal with no idea of how to do that. All these professional thermic sealers were too much expensive so we ended up with this little toy from Taiwan. Really a big deal for only ten euros. Do yourself a favour: watch the presentation above and order one.

Paper marble kit: a kid’s game I’m happy I haven’t thrown away

spacer

While trying to figure out a nice way to start the magazine, we’ve found an old kit to make some marble texture. Basically it’s all about mixing glue, water and color together, and then fully dip a paper sheet in it. The kit was more than ten years old and all the colors were gone, we’ve been lucky that black and yellow worked fine enough to get some nice results.
