About Brad

Brad Saul is the founder and CEO of Matrix Media and WebTalkRadio.net, and has pioneered a number of broadcast firsts. Traditional broadcast accomplishments include the creation of the Sear’s College Football Game of the Week and the NBA Radio Network. Over his 30 year career, Saul has introduced such innovative concepts to radio as home shopping, more than 175 original radio series and programs as well as numerous award-winning specials.

It became clear to Saul in 2006 – that the future of radio would be on the Internet, shortly after he founded WebTalkRadio.net. Web Talk Radio is used as a training ground to attempt to build out successful program brands that can thrive in radio’s new world. WebTalkRadio.net is the only talk radio site that harnesses the power of terrestrial radio, using the Matrix network reaching 3.5 million people weekly to drive listenership to WebTalkRadio.net. Web Talk Radio’s success stories include How to Live Cancer Free with Bill Henderson, the Pop Culture Road Trip with Chris Epting and Work Matters with Nan Russell amongst others.

His company was awarded the status of being an INC. 500 company for two consecutive years in 1989 and 1990. Other awards given to Saul and the company include a Gold Medal at the New York Radio and Television Festival, and several Peter Lisagor awards.

Saul was instrumental in the development of the in-flight entertainment industry. In the mid 1980’s through the late ‘90’s, he pioneered in-flight advertising supported audio programs as well as in-flight advertiser supported television on numerous airlines, most notably American Airlines. He grew and maintained that business for more than 16 years. During that time, under his direction, American Airlines grew to be the largest revenue generator of any domestic airline in-flight entertainment division.

Other Matrix Media accomplishments include development of the first network of advertiser supported long distance telephone services, specifically Freeway. Matrix’ efforts resulted in bringing over 30 national advertisers to the Freeway initiative, a brand new medium with no quantitative data to support it. It also developed the first radio station in an amusement park, Great America Radio.

Matrix has also produced and syndicated radio programs for the Discovery Networks. Such programs include Animal Planet Radio and Travel Channel Radio. Other popular programs have been the Dr. Laura Berman Show, Dr. Donnica’s Women’s Health Report and the HGTV Design Minutes. Other initiatives included the creation and launch of the NBA Radio Network and Sears College Football Game of the Week leading to the creation of a sports division that at one time was the second largest provider of live play by play sports in network radio.

Saul founded the nonprofit Radio Center for People with Disabilities more than 10 years ago. The mission of the RCPD is to train and place people with disabilities in off air radio jobs. Using his extensive contacts in the radio industry, Saul assembled an impressive Board of Directors for this 501(c)3 nonprofit that include Bob Sherman, former president of AOL Interactive, Pierre Bouvard, president of Arbitron New Media, Jeff Smulyan, CEO of Emmis, Erica Farber, Former Publisher of Radio and Records, and many others. The RCPD has trained and placed dozens of people with disabilities in paying, off-air radio jobs.

Saul, best described as a serial entrepreneur, created Chicago Disability Transit, a para-transit service providing transportation throughout the city of Chicago for people with disabilities. Saul’s entry into the marketplace has helped ease an overburdened public system that now provides more than 5,000 rides per month for people with disabilities. Currently, under Saul’s direction, Prime Access Capital powered by N-Abled is launching the first fully accessible online banking website to serve the largest minority in the United States, people with disabilities. More information about Chicago Disability Transit can be found at chicagodisability transit.com and about Prime Access Capital at primeaccesscapital.com.
