K’NEX celebrated the launch of the new K’NEX Mario Kart Wii building set collection on Thursday, July 21 with a fun filled event. The launch was held at the Nintendo World Store in NYC.

The set is designed for children 6+, combining the award winning K’NEX building system with beloved characters from the popular Mario Kart Wii Game, bringing Mario, Luigi and Yoshi from the video screen to the construction aisle for the first time.

To say my son enjoyed himself is an understatement. With product demonstrations, contests and a photo op with Mario and Luigi – he was in his glory.

The new K’NEX Mario Kart Wii Line will debut this month, July 2011.  Retail prices range from 7.99 to 99.99.

We received the Mario Vs. Goomba Building set for attending the event.  One set makes a small section of the complete track.  To make the complete track the 3 sets are needed.  My son loved building the set and the motorized Mario Kart – it looks like I will have to add the other sets to my shopping list.

This Mother’s Day is All About the Steak

Mother’s Day is all about honoring “the mom” in your life.  I am very fortunate to have two beautiful children who took the time to remind me what Mother’s Day really means.  In my son’s case – it’s all about the steak. And the fact that I make him laugh when I swim.

I can’t wait to see what he has to say about Father’s Day.

What’s a Housewife?

My family and I were recently out to dinner.  We had to wait for a table and decided to order an appetizer and drinks while we waited.  We were sitting at the bar when the appetizer, edamame arrived.  A lady, who was sitting next to me, looked at the plate and asked me what it was.  I responded by saying, it’s edamame – and had her try one.  She loved it – so I went into detail about where to get it how to make it, etc.

The woman turned to me and said, “You’re such a housewife”.

She said it like you would say “pass the sugar”.  Until my 11 year old daughter turned to me and said, “What’s a housewife?”

I was confused – how could my 11-year old not know what a housewife is??  I am a stay at home mom of two children.  I cook (not well), I clean (not good), I pick up the dry cleaning (when I don’t forget)  and am always there for my children (well – most of the time).  I also own a website.

If you asked my daughter what does your mom do?  I think she would say she owns a website and we get to do really cool things – like go to concerts, be on the news, go to events where I am filled with food and games.

I never thought to explain what a housewife is?

I am not sure how I feel about the question?  I wasn’t insulted – just confused?  What do you think?
