About

Recently, some of the biggest fans of me, and my cooking, have started referring to me as KT, but in my everyday life I simply go by Zoë. I tend to think that my mother did in fact give birth to me in a kitchen, as that is the place I have always felt the most comfortable (even after this past weeks scorched milk, which I did twice). I started off pouring in the wet ingredients while making banana bread with my dad, and have been in love with food from then on.

spacer Since then, I have tried an endless amount of recipes, and made a multitude of disasters. I continue to venture on in my quest to find another recipe to add to my binder of print outs, or to make as a regular on a Tuesday night. I tend to hide my defeats in the kitchen, but continually to share openly about my life outside of the kitchen.

As for what else fills my time when I can’t be counter-side, I live in Washington, DC, am a project officer at a web consulting firm (yes, I built this site myself, so you know who to go to when you have a complaint), and love to take photos. I am currently shooting on a Nikon D90, or a D60 depending on whether the other love of my life (and roommate(!), also referred to here as simply E.) has taken his camera to some far off exotic destination.

All in all, I love to cook, bake, flambe or whatever method will keep me in the kitchen. And sharing my love of food with the people that mean the most to me.

Working professional by day, cook by night, foodie toujours.
