This one time at Sequoia National Park, my family and its subsequent convoy of cars spotted a growing cub. Not full grown, but not as small as these. In their foreigner’s ignorance, people started getting out of the car to take pictures, the most brave of which ended up being my mother.

I was a driver in another car so I stopped immediately and informed everybody that a mother was nearby (she was), and that any kind of altercation would leave people seriously hurt (most likely my mom, since she was the closest to the cub).

The mother bear emerged, and the two moms had a brief moment. Then the bear retrieved her cub and went about their day.
