David Toms – What’s in the Bag

A major champion in the 2001 PGA Championship, David Toms dropped off the radar screen after 2006 (his last win). In fact, he only made one top ten in 2008 when he switched to Taylormade. Battling with injuries, he switched back to Cleveland and even though we know it’s not the clubs, he’s back up the leader board.

What’s in the Bag – Vaughn Taylor

J. J. Henry – What’s in the Bag

What’s in J.J. Henry’s bag? Pretty much all Callaway clubs. He was undefeated in four year’s of high school golf competition, and with these clubs, he won the Buick Championship. Not too bad for having pretty much one brand in the bag huh?

What’s in the Bag – Rory Sabbatini

Rory Sabbatini, with his bright and tight shirt, is not the friendliest golfer on the planet at first glance. With his game face and the way he walks, it’s hard to figure out whether he ever has fun! Once you get to know him though, you will know that he is actually a very good guy, and a great friend to have.

On top of that, he’s definitely got game. Rory is routinely in the top ten and he is sometimes in the hunt for major championships. Will he win one soon? We shall see!

Alex Cejka have been in the PGA Tour for a loooooooooong time since he turned pro in 1989 but he’s yet to win. However, little do people know that he’s made well over $5 million dollars in his career (and for sure more than $6 million by year end). Pretty good salary for someone who’s largely been unknown huh?

What’s in the Bag – Sean O’Hair

Sean O’Hair is good but he’s actually not famous for his golf game. Apparently, his father, Marc O’Hair sold his shutter business for $2.75 million and spent $2 million to develop Sean into the golfer that he is today. It is said that Sean went through very intense physical and psychological training and the programs were so hard that Sean isn’t even talking to his father.

Sean started his pro career in 1999 but struggled not only with qualifying the PGA Tour but the Nationwide Tour in subsequent years as well. It wasn’t until 2004 that he qualified for the PGA Tour but he came on tour firing. In 2005, he won the John Deere Classic and was the tour’s rookie of the year.

What’s in the Bag – George McNeill

George McNeill is part of the Titleist family of sponsored PGA Tour players and he is definitely full endorsed (he plays Titleist equipment from head to toe). Ever since he was three years old when his grandfather gave him the first set of golf clubs, he’s been playing this wonderful game.

However, it wasn’t smooth sailing for George. By the time it was 2006, he found himself as an assistant golf professional at Forest Country Club in Fort Meyers, FL. He was there four days a week working 12 hour days. It was tough I’m sure, which led him to come back to competitive golf.

Once he came back, he’s been making over $1 million per year for the last few years, probably a tiny bit more than his assistant pro salary.

What’s in the Bag – Jerry Kelly

After a long stretch of not winning golf tournaments, Jerry Kelly wins in 2009. The happy go lucky golfer is not the longest hitter on tour by far and isn’t all that accurate either. However, his game gets better the closer to the flag stick he gets. He ranks at the top in putting and scoring averages, which again helped him win golf tournaments.

For all those that think driving is key, this is another testament of “drive for show, putt for dough”.
