Hello there!
I write Captain Awkward for fun (and for free). I’m an adjunct college instructor and an eternal freelancer, which means I am always hustling for money to keep a roof over my head and satisfy my love of fine cheese. If you like what you read here and find it helpful, please consider making a donation through PayPal (you can also click the picture of the ramen, below). All donors get a free awkward short story “The Best Dog In The World” by me and my eternal thanks. In lieu of selling ads, I will be doing two week-long PBS-style Pledge Drives a year in early January and early June where I ask readers to donate to the blog, but there is no need to wait: Donations are welcome at any time.

I’m also available for small writing projects – newsletters, personal ads, resumes and cover letters, Strongly Worded Letters, proposals, corporate brochures and various web content – for a fee. I’m a decent photographer and video producer, so if you’re in the Chicago area and need a flattering portrait or a reality show audition video, I can also hook you up.
