Big, bold links are easy to make and fun to wear.
Getting Started
Preheat oven to 275 °F. Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. Condition all clay by kneading until it’s soft and smooth or running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Step 1
Roll Antique Gold clay through Clay Conditioning Machine at thickest setting. Cut sheet in half and stack one piece on top of the other. Roll doubled sheet on baking surface to adhere. Cut small circle first, then large circle to create link shape. Repeat until sheet is filled. Carefully peel up scraps and roll into new sheet, taking care not to incorporate air into scraps. Repeat until you have 8 links of each color. Bake for 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
Step 2
Lay out links in your color pattern. Using stiff Super Slicer, cut through every other link. Assemble cut links through solid links. Superglue cut link slits together.
Tips
If using different sizes of cookie cutters, make 3 test links first to ensure you like the sizes together.
Premo! Sculpey® Accents colors look great marbled together. Try a few marbled links mixed in with solid ones.
