  • Enjoying ourselves & eating what we want without over indulging or missing out on foods we cherish.

My staple eats consists of:

  • Fruits
  • Veggies
  • Whole grains
  • Fish
  • Lean proteins
  • Dairy

I consider myself a “Pescetarian”- no red meat, I do eat fish.

I don’t eat fast food, I don’t believe it should even exist. Point blank hate the stuff.

On 23rd of May in the year of 1988 I was born. I was a healthy girl who loved life and always had a big smile on her face!

spacer I grew up in Sydney, Australia until the ages of 7, when we relocated to Canberra, Australia. After the move, my parents both had jobs that had them working long hours arriving home late in the day. Leaving me in charge of some of my nightly meals. Due to being a kid this eventually led to poor eating habits that lead me to being an obese teen. My mother had always pushed the values of healthy eating and the importance of food, this plan however backfired and led me to sneaking food of an unhealthy caliber, I had been denied. I’d even go as far as having fast food secretly then going home to have dinner at home with the family when we ate together. These routines eventually become the norm that I did every night binging on two dinners a night everyday.

Growing up I had always been keen at swimming and even joined a swimming club when we relocated to Geelong, Australia in 2000. Since I had learned how to swim at quite a young age it was something I enjoyed and was a passion of mine for several years. I competed in multiple swim meets and enjoyed every minute of them.

spacer On November 11th, 2000 my life was changed forever. My local swim team had their usual swim meet and I was eager and excited to participate. I had signed up for multiple races one of which included the 100-meter breaststroke. This race began at the shallow end of the pool and even at the young age of 12, I knew diving into 900 cms of water wasn’t the brightest idea. Being the obedient swimmer I was I stood on the diving block anyways to begin my race. Within seconds my life was changed forever. The starting block I was standing on wasn’t at all stable and I fell face first and hitting my chin on the bottom of the shallow end of the pool.

spacer  The impact of the fall caused a whiplash effect in turn breaking my spinal cord, leaving me paralyzed from the neck down with little mobility in my arms. I have always been a resilient person and this has helped me cope with this life changing event I experienced. Dealing with a spinal cord injury is quite a traumatic experience however I was able to be strong, accept my injury, and move forward in my life. It wasn’t an easy thing to accept by any means but I wasn’t about to give up on life because of the situation I was placed in. After my injury, my eating habits in reality should have changed for the better but instead they got worse.  I continued to eat in an even more careless fashion than before causing my weight to slowly creep up on me.

When my parent’s were divorced in 2006, I lived with my father. He was just as careless as I was with food & before long I’d eliminated fruit & vegetables from all my meals. Before long, the local take away places knew my order by heart. Some of them had even waived the delivery fee’s on my orders.

After seeing myself, truly looking at myself. I realized that out of all the things I couldn’t control, I could always control what went into my mouth.

On November 12th 2008, I threw away all my take away menu’s. I then ventured out to buy loads of fruit & vegetables. I came home with everything healthy you could imagine. For just over a month I lived on Subway, steamed vegetables, chicken & huge bowls of fruit.

spacer I finally went to my doctor & decided to start seeing a Nutritionist. I clicked automatically with Revi, the second we were introduced, I felt a connection. I knew that what she was saying to me was going to work, everything she was telling me made sense. She made me realize that weight loss was realistic & achievable. Her guideline’s weren’t complicated, I was completely capable of following them. I created all my meals within the guideline’s Revi had given me in that first session. Every day, I followed her guidelines & over time, the weight came off. Quickly at first then my weight loss was more steady.
[I vlogged my entire journey].

After 16 month’s of determination, I had become a healthier person. I enjoy everything that comes from being healthy. The food, the energy, the clothes, the personal growth & the mature person I’ve become.

I reached my healthy weight on March 5th 2010 & begun blogging about the maintenance phase of my journey.

Since reaching maintenance, I’ve made an effort to share my life with you all.

I haven’t had a cig in over a year. The most terrible thing concerning stopping is most likely the beginning week. Fortunetly for me that part went away quickly and things improved as time went on thanks to the electric cigarette. Please do not think quitting is impossible. Just persevere and you may very well be successful once and for all.

Hey I just wanted to let you know, I really like the piece of writing on your web site. But I am employing Flock on a machine running version 8.x of Crashbang Ubuntu and the look and feel aren’t quite right. Not a important deal, I can still basically read the articles and look for for information, but just wanted to inform you about that. The navigation bar is kind of difficult to use with the config I’m running. Keep up the superb work!

I have begun to realize quitting smoking is actually extremely difficult. I started cancer sticks when I was a kid. It had been the hugest mistake of my life. Right now I’m older and I have lung disease. I tried out each of the stopping products and yet absolutely nothing did the trick. My last try is definitely the e-cigs in the end.
