How to make Bunting for cupcakes using Washi Tape
February 7, 2012 | 3 Comments
Valentines day is 1 week away and we all know that the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. So to spice things up a little this Valentines I decided to bring food and craft together by collaborating with my dear friend Phuoc (food blogger extraordinaire) from phuocndelicious. If your significant other has a sweet tooth then click here for Phuoc’s recipe on how to make heart shaped red velvet cupcakes. And… if you have Washi Tape lying around and/or you’re dating a clown here’s a tutorial on how to decorate these cupcakes with Bunting!
What you will need:
String
Toothpicks (2 per string)
Washi Tape
Scissors
Cupcakes
The first thing you need to do Is cut your string. Size the string up against the cupcake, leaving enough excess to tie around the toothpicks. Tie one end of the string to the top of one toothpick.
Rip a piece of tape and attach to the string like so:
Now with a scissors cut the tape into a triangle. Leaving a little gap, add another piece of tape and then cut your second triangle. Repeat this until you have enough triangles. When you are done tie the end of the string to the remaining toothpick. Cut off any excess string and there you have it!
CUPCAKE BUNTING!!
Of course this project is not restricted to Washi Tape. You can use fabric tape, fabric with double sided tape or even paper and glue. And of course the cupcakes aren’t restricted to lovers. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
