Jessica & Michael – 11.5.11

Published by Bob on February 16, 2012 in Weddings.

Jessica & Michael are a hilarious couple who kept me in stitches throughout their wedding day, from their elegant morning ceremony at The Church of the Redeemer through their blast of a reception at the Ault Park Pavilion Cincinnati.  God was clearly looking down on this couple throughout the ceremony, as this perfect ray of light kept finding its way to them through the stained glass windows at all of the key moments.

The reception took place in the majestic pavilion in the center of the stunning Ault Park where designer Tim Lieber expertly pulled a little bit of the park’s colors into the event space.  The delicious brunch provided by Chef’s Choice provided just the fuel needed to get the guests through the Clyde Brown Band’s energetic set.  The highlight of day had to be the father of the bride’s clarinet serenades to his beloved daughter.  After some fun pictures with photographer Erika Rice, Jessica & Michael exited into their new life together.  Huge thanks to former clients Chelsea & Tom Crabtree for referring such a wonderful couple to us!

Braca & Rob – 10.29.11

Published by Bob on February 5, 2012 in Uncategorized.

I had a wonderful time filming Braca & Rob’s beautiful wedding and reception at the gorgeous Indiana Roof Ballroom.  Coordinator Rayna Traylor (who referred Braca & Rob to us) did a marvelous job of overseeing the evening’s events, and J.P. Parker Flowers did their usual amazing work at the Roof.  Photographer Morgan Matters, sporting a sparkling new ring from her own engagement the previous night, was a blast to work with as always.  It’s not easy to fill the sizable dance floor there, let alone for a one man band, but keyboardist Matt Roush pulled it off wonderfully.  The musical highlight of the evening, however, belonged to the stunning bride herself, who surprised the groom with a pre-recorded rendition of her singing “Hallelujah,” which played as they cut their cake.

Lindsay & Michael – 10.22.11

Published by Bob on February 3, 2012 in Weddings.

Lindsay & Michael had a lovely, music-filled wedding ceremony at First Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana, followed by a gorgeous waterfront reception at Harrison Lake Country Club.  The striking church with the imposing bell tower was designed by famed architect Eliel Saarinen (whose son designed the Gateway Arch), and made a great backdrop for photos by Melissa Marie Photography, as did the stunning Irwin Gardens following the ceremony.  The fall-themed interior decor provided by Detail+Design looked incredible, as did their transformation of the country club.  D+D’s Katina Kaisher (who referred Lindsay & Michael to us) did a fabulous job of keeping the whole day running smoothly, and the DJs of 6:7 Entertainment kept the reception hopping.

Safe Coverage Foundation – 12.6.11

Published by Bob on January 28, 2012 in Miscellaneous.

Indianapolis Colts Pro Bowl safety Antoine Bethea invited many of his fellow playmakers and friends to the Colts Grille for a launch party and fundraiser for his new charity, the Safe Coverage Foundation, benefiting youth in several communities.  There were some very sweet auction items including signed jerseys by the likes of Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Albert Pujols, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and of course Peyton Manning.  I had a blast mingling with Antoine and other Pro Bowl players such as Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai &  Robert Mathis, and it was great to catch up with team captain & former client Gary Brackett (who confirmed that he loved his wedding film – yay!).  The gals from Eventfull Planning, along with Molly Connor Photography, Pink Poppy Ink,  Sweet Pea Floral and Evans Audio Visual, did a superb job of not only implementing the event, but handling the very busy checkout line after a successful evening.

Blissful Wishes Ball – 11.14.11

Published by Bob on January 28, 2012 in Miscellaneous.

I’ve been honored to be involved with Wish Upon a Wedding over the past year, and what a year it has been! From our launch in January through two wishes granted, the Indianapolis chapter has been one of the most active in the country, in large part due to the many event industry friends who have supported us tremendously in our efforts to provide weddings for couples facing life-altering circumstances.

Our final big event of the year was the Blissful Wishes Ball, held at the Conrad Indianapolis, which gave us an opportunity to raise additional awareness and funds, say “thank you” to a lot of people, and announce yet another wish to be granted this spring. Here are some highlights from a very fun and inspiring evening!

Courtney & Ross – 10.15.11

Published by Bob on January 17, 2012 in Weddings.

A few years after filming Amanda & Michael’s wedding, I was excited to film the wedding of Michael’s twin sister Courtney & Ross at East 91st Street Christian Church, followed by their reception at the Eiteljorg Museum.  Prior to the ceremony, photographer Dawn Fisher of Galleria Studios & I captured some fun shots of the bridal party, which included many of our previous as well as future clients.  The reception looked fantastic thanks to colorful decor by Circle City Designers, and the service by Kahn’s Catering was top notch.  The DJs of PBJ Entertainment presided over a lively evening of dancing, highlighted by a cameo appearance by Purdue Pete, and the flutter fetti sendoff was the perfect way to top off a glorious day.

Sijia & Matt – 10.2.11

Published by Bob on January 13, 2012 in Weddings.

Sijia & Matt enjoyed a picture-perfect fall day for their wedding and reception at the Mansion at Oak Hill.  Along with Dawn & Mike Fisher of Galleria Studios (who referred the couple to us), we captured some nice shots under the canopy of trees which later became the backdrop for their beautiful and emotional ceremony, highlighted by a unique rose ceremony that Sijia & Matt will recreate on their anniversaries.  The bride looked stunning in her dress as well as makeup by Karen Hall.  The flowers by Jan Johnson of Belle Fleur added elegance to the ballroom for the reception, which was expertly presided over by Jeremy Gearries of DJs Direct.  The big day concluded in style with Sijia & Matt’s grand exit in an Antique Limousine provided by Jack Gambs.

Nancy & Brian – 10.1.11

Published by Bob on December 21, 2011 in Weddings.

Nancy & Brian couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for a wedding and reception at the Meridian Hills Country Club.  Coverage began with Nancy’s preparations at the Marriott North as coordinator Rachel Dillow tended to her every need, followed by her first meeting with Brian.  Then we all headed to MHCC for more photos on the links with Nate & Tiffany from Nathaniel Edmunds Photography before settling in for a picture perfect outdoor ceremony on the club’s huge back patio.

The ballroom for the reception looked stunning with decor by The Empty Vase’s David Strohmeyer.  Nancy’s father provided nice personalized introductions for the whole bridal party, humorously nearly forgetting to introduce the newly married couple.  The live music provided by First Impression was jazzy and engaging as usual, leading to a crowded dance floor and fun night for all.
