Usher x Diplo “Climax”
Yesterday, right on cue with Valentine’s came a collaboration released by Usher and…DIPLO! Those are definitely the last two that I would ever imagine working together, but the result is something preeeeeetty fuckin’ good. Being that Diplo is from the dance / electronic genre, you can definitely hear a bit of his influence on the track, but done in a more smoothed out manner to coincide with Usher’s silky sing-song stylings.
Yuksek x Brodinski
Yuksek’s album Living on the Edge of Time is officially out now and to celebrate the release, he’s giving away the single “Off The Wall” remixed by Brodinski as a free download. While the album is out now, the single won’t be officially available until February 28th. The songs that I have heard from Yuksek have been quite promising, I loved “Always On The Run” and “On a Train”. This Brodinski remix is a bit more body jacking, comes at you a little harder, but works quite well. Check it out below.

Ango x Jacques Greene x Sade
Montreal-based signer / songwriter Ango has released his cover of Sade’s “No Ordinary Love”. Impeccable timing, what with it being Valentines’ and all. The track is produced by Ango and Jacques Greene and I have to say this is a pretty incredible cover of a long time favorite of mine. Quite a beautiful cover and the two guys did an excellent job covering it. For today only, the track is available as a free download.

Drake ft. The Weeknd “Crew Love” Shlohmo Remix
Picture this. You do a remix version of “Crew Love” by Drake and The Weeknd at a Wedidit Fest in Los Angeles. Someone films this, of course, it is the digital age after all. Drake sees the video and hears the remix, takes to his Tumblr and asks for an official studio version of the remix. Two days later you deliver that remix. That could pretty much never happen…except that’s exactly what happened to Shlohmo.

Video: Cults “You Know What I Mean”
You know the story. Girl and boy love each other. Father doesn’t approve. Boy is tested to prove his love and so forth. That’s essentially the plot of Cults newest video for “You Know What I Mean” from their self-titled debut released last year. It’s sweet and dark at the same time, showing of the tinges of darkness in their music. The video was directed by Isaiah Seret, who also directed their video for “Go Outside.”
Video: Childish Gambino “Heartbeat”
Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover’s latest video for the single “Hearbeat”, which every girl out there just can’t seem to get enough of and it comes just in time for Valentine’s Day. But personally, the best part of the song is actually the chorus and it would appear I’m not the only one to think that as Oliver (Oligee and U-Tern) built a whole remix around the chorus. Check that out below.

because it’s Friday, and I’ve had this stuck in my head…
Video: The Head and the Heart “Down In The Valley”
I love The Head and the Heart. I think they are amazing and same goes for their music, and I’m so happy for all of their success. Here’s their new video for “Down In the Valley,” which is one of my favourite tracks off of the band’s eponymous album. Directed by E. Ryan McMackin, the video is a behind-the-scenes look at the touring life of The Head and the Heart.
