Milford Ambulance Service proposes a stand-alone facility on Cottage Street that would meet the immediate and long-term needs of the department and the town.

The 2012 building proposal calls for the purchase of one lot and will maintain Milford Ambulance Service’s respective response times as the majority of calls for service are within one mile of the Oval. As a secondary benefit to the town, relocation of Milford Ambulance Service allows for Town Hall space needs and deficiencies to be addressed at a later date.

By keeping the Milford Ambulance Service in the downtown area, the town will:

  • Maintain current response times
  • Facilitate volunteer, call and career staff recruitment and retention which keeps operating costs low. Investing in a new shared ambulance and fire facility demonstrates the community’s commitment to department staff.
  • Create more downtown parking
  • Provide additional needed community meeting space.
